WHY DOES THE NRL MEDIA KEEP COMING FOR TERRELL MAY?

Paul Kent has called out Terrell May while discussing standards, favouritism and player culture at the Wests Tigers.

But here’s my issue.

Terrell May wasn’t the player making these allegations.

Yet his name gets brought into the conversation.

Kent says May “can do no wrong” at the Tigers, suggests Benji Marshall looks after him, and points to his missed tackles as evidence when talking about standards.

Now, criticising May’s football is fair.

Miss a tackle? Call it out.

Have a poor game? Talk about it.

But when does criticism of Terrell May the footballer become a narrative about Terrell May the person?

Because there’s a much bigger accusation being made here.

That May receives favourable treatment inside the Wests Tigers.

If you’re going to publicly name a player and attach him to problems with the culture of an NRL club, shouldn’t there be evidence beyond a couple of missed tackles?

So I’ve got a genuine question.

Why does Terrell May keep finding himself in the firing line of the NRL media?

Is the criticism justified?

Or has Terrell May become an easy target whenever something goes wrong at the Wests Tigers?
