One of our favourite labels EVER, is a pioneering musical phenomenon and the focus of our Third label-specific edition of & . Perennially at the forefront of independent music, Third Man unequivocally leads the way in terms of forward-thinking, boundary-pushing record labels.

We've collected a cross-section of recordings from their history to give you the best possible overview of their fantastic and varied output.

It features a multitude of gems, from the instantly iconic live collaboration between label head honcho and fellow Detroit legend , to cuts from recent re-releases of material by and Connie Converse as well as more modern inclusions from songstress and Aussies The Belair Lip Bombs ().

TMR has also been responsible for bringing us the return of the inimitable , as well as newer work by veteran musician .birch and the meteoric rise of critical darlings - all of whom feature here. Ever the tastemakers, is a band that we were introduced to in person by speaking to bassist at - so they're here too, naturally.

At the heavier end of the spectrum sits the exciting, brutal sound of , an absolute barnstormer from Toronto duo (captured live at the famous ) and a track from 's genre-defining stoner-rock epic Dopesmoker.

On the quirkier side of things we have a piece from the one and only (yes, _that_ Carl Sagan) and a track from their cult classic Green Series by Irish DJ, author, actor and photographer, . We also have the more well-known Blue Series represented in the form of a one off single from Transit - a group made up entirely of employees from the Nashville Metro Transit Authority.

Finally, there's a unique acapella piece from of and a solo tune from , frontwoman of spooky garage rock revivalists .

An amazing label, we consider ourselves absolutely privileged to exist at the same time as them.

The new edition of The Flower Hour is here and what a list we have for you this month.

A new tune from (heard here) ommemorates a welcome return from one of our own, the new project from KG OG under the new name of and there's a really unique track from trailblazing South African genre-benders .

Elsewhere there are some rockers from , , , , and .

On the softer end of the spectrum there's a lovely folky piece from and a hard-hitting tune from recent discovery (and ).

We also have a few electronic bits this month in the form of who is joined by the one and only , the inimitable (feat. ) and an absolute banger from .

There's also something that doesn't really slot nicely into any box (we do appreciate when that happens) from featuring Flower Hour alum ().

Lastly our friends from are representing with a lo-fi acoustic cover of a cult-favourite tune (Tru Punk) from and the newest single from newest recruits .

Blimey!

Enjoy. And please, if you do, remember to πŸ’

This month's installment of The Flower Hour is dedicated to the splendid .

Probably most famous for including the likes of the excellent & , it also features fellow enchanting Aussie-based imports ,

The label has a particular penchant for irresistibly charming twee indie in various forms (what we're calling "twindie") and this is perfectly exhibited by tunes from , , and Scots .

There's also a bit of electronic boundary-pushing from experimental duo and as well as tracks from the equally adventurous - but much less electronic - and .

The inimitable, unstoppable brings the fusion and &
make a formidable dream team indeed.

Elsewhere there are some rockers from , , , , and .

We hope you enjoy this second edition of our label focussed volumes and if anything particularly speaks to you please be sure to make the artists - and indeed the label aware.
