Water utilities are juggling more challenges than ever, aging infrastructure, new regulations, and growing service demands. 💧

ArcGIS Utility Network helps turn that complexity into clarity, showing how your assets connect, where the risks are, and what needs attention.

Smarter insights mean better decisions (without extra overheads).

Congratulations to Ormiston College - winners of the 2025 UN-Registered SDG GIS Challenge! 🏆

Their incredible project, “When Strangers Take Root: Invasive Species on Coochiemudlo Island,” explored the impact of invasive plants on native ecosystems and biodiversity. Using the power of ArcGIS Online, Survey123, and StoryMaps, students collected field data, analysed patterns, and visualised their findings through an engaging and insightful StoryMap. Turning science, technology, and creativity into real-world environmental action.

👉 You can explore their amazing StoryMap via the link in the comments.

This challenge isn't just about competition, it's about empowering students to apply STEM and spatial thinking to solve real environmental issues in their communities, all aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Perth and Adelaide, that’s a wrap!

What a week it’s been on the Esri Australia Roadshow. From celebrating GIS Day in Perth to a full house in Adelaide, we loved connecting with the incredible GIS community across both states.

We shared what’s next for ArcGIS, including AI-powered workflows and Microsoft integrations, but the real value came from the conversations in the room and seeing how local organisations are applying GIS to real-world challenges. Your stories, questions, and ideas are what drives the future of geospatial innovation.

Thanks to everyone who joined us, shared insights, and helped make these events such a success. We’re excited to keep supporting you as we move the industry forward, together. 💡🌏 .

For many organisations, growing imagery libraries create more complexity than clarity, and real value only comes when they are turned into usable insight. The final session in our Imagery webinar series, The art of imagery management; Scaling with confidence shows you how.

Esri Australia’s Gordon Sumerling and Linda Skoog will walk through strategies for cataloguing imagery, boosting performance with cloud storage and caching, and strengthening metadata so your imagery delivers value long into the future

📅 Thursday 4 December 2025, 12:30 to 1:15pm AEDT

We marked GIS Day yesterdat with a morning tea across our offices. 🧁It was a fun way to bring everyone together, recognise the work we do, and celebrate how GIS makes a difference around the world.

GIS Day is all about showing how location helps us understand situations, solve problems, and connect ideas. It’s a celebration of curiosity, passion, and the people who use maps to make real change happen. 🌏

Did you do anything for GIS Day this year? Tell us in the comments. 👇

🌏 Happy GIS Day! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating how spatial thinking connects us all and the incredible teams who make it happen.

Behind every GIS project is a team bringing ideas to life. They might not use GIS every day, but their work keeps everything running smoothly, from planning events and supporting clients to sharing knowledge and inspiring others.

Today we want to say thank you and share some of their stories.

How are you celebrating GIS Day? Let us know in the comments. 👇

GIS Day is next week and this year, we’re celebrating how spatial thinking connects us all. 🎉

Everyone has their own journey with spatial thinking, and it often starts in unexpected ways.

For Esri Australia Program Manager, Tariro Taneka, that journey began at just eleven years old. Her mother, a nurse in Zimbabwe, used location data to help fight malaria. Hospitals used location data to identify patterns in patient symptoms, allowing local government teams target those areas. 💡

How did you first learn about the power of spatial thinking? Share your story in the comments.
