We’ve said it before but we are so lucky that Mckisko lives in our city. One of our all time favourite artists who has released three perfect records and continues in great projects like Mess Esque When we were putting together a list of bands we wanted to see especially in the context of 4ZZZ celebrating 50, we knew we had to have Mckisko as they’ve done so much for the community. Ethereal, enchanting and all the words won’t do it justice. Come and see for yourself

Ah here is a band with plenty about them. Special Features are very cool, loud in the best ways and have an energetic live performance. They say it with their chest and there single this year ‘Che Guevara T-Shirt’ is locked into our shortlist for the Hot 100. We are stoked they are about and burning brightly in our scene.

It’s a beautiful day in the world because there is a new Michael Beach record in the world. The fifth record from this brilliant artist ‘Black Plume’ is out today and we are just so thrilled to have him up for the fest. Out in Australia on Poison City Records the singles we have heard have been ranging from impactful ballads, rolling hills of guitars and weaving explorations in song. The first time we saw Ghost Mutt there were some beautiful songs, Spanish lyrics and matching bolo ties. Instantly we knew they were one to watch. With two albums out now they have continued to hone their craft with the ability to create fun energetic melodies and also emotionally impactful ballads. Every time we have heard something from Fatshaudi we have been blown away by its ability to knock us into a different stratosphere. Her work stands in its own realm and is insanely fun. Starting the year off strong we are stoked to announce the new EP from Digging will be released next Wednesday the 22nd of January. River City is a beautiful collection of songs that find connection to place and the formative character the river is here in Brisbane/Meanjin. An incredible songwriter we are very excited to work with Ben and for you to hear the EP next week.
