Last year I was lucky to run into Winnie Mzembe on set for a friends video, we got talking and she saw our Controlled Chaos Films page and really liked what we were doing. Winnie then asked if I’d be interested in producing and directing one of her short films. I read the script and thought it was hilarious and actually perfectly captured Winnie’s personality and humour!

I’m stoked with this amazing poster! And we can’t wait to get the film edited and share it with you!

There are so many people to thank on this project but for this particular post I want to thank Joshua Robinson for his amazing editing skills and ability to transform feedback into the perfect movie poster for this romantic comedy and for focus pulling and so much more on filming day! I also wanna thank Jarod Murray for taking some amazing photos including the one in this poster and filming the interviews all in my garage! You made everyone pop brother thank you! 🤩

The cast are stunning in this and they did a fantastic job in these photos and on set! (Michael Deed and Winnie Mzembe and Miriam Young) I just want to say congrats to Winnie as well who without, the film wouldn’t exist! Can’t wait until people can see this one mate!!! 🙌🙌🙌

Absolutely MASSIVE thanks to Conrad Petzsch-Kunze who is the most incredible DOP and so easy to work with on the day! HUGE THANKS to Jennifer Holt for her amazing organisation skills and ability to make the cast look so damn good (MUA) thanks for all your advice and wisdom in the build up! We challenged each other to write, shoot and edit a skit as a one man film crew 🎥

Mainly due to being really time poor and struggling to catch up haha! ⏱

But also because it sounded like a fun thing to do 🎭

So, first off the block is Paracetamol! 💊

Ever thought - "No, I don't want to clean up the yard (even IF all the boys are there)."

Well, you wouldn't be alone. Jason, played by our resident hype man Zac Boulton, feels the exact same way. He enlists the help of a wandering stranger, a gardener if you will, to help in this perillas journey of self discovery. Will they succeed in terraforming this backyard of horrors into a living oasis of loveliness?

After recently performing on stage with Rhys, I challenged us to make a professional TVC or online video for them to promote their coffee in Controlled Chaos style. We are so stoked with the result. 😁 YO PEEPS✌️, Controlled Chaos Films are excited to share this short showreel scene between Daniel Simpson and Zac Boulton!!!❤️

👀Dan came to us and said let's do it! And we all thought "this is the way".

😎Firstly this is a scene from The Newsroom by Aaron Sorkin, a master writer who has incredible wit and writes at pace! He is known for A Few Good Men, The Social Network and The West Wing (and much more). We really wanted to try and match the speed at which the famous TV show was performed and shot at but also bring our own flavours to the scene and edit. 🙃

Michael Deed shot and directed this one. He did an excellent job finding creative shots and advising on performance.👏

Zac and Justin McVicar both helped with the edit. You damn wizard Justin! 🤝
Overall a great job done by Dan and everyone from Controlled Chaos. ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥
