After a bit of time away, I’ve been working behind the scenes and have just updated the site — including a full textual index of all reviewed artists (cheers for the push on that, DB Spaceface). I’ve also streamlined things a bit and removed the embedded videos.
New reviews are on the way again. Got a submission lined up already — first one drops this Friday. If you’re a Brissie artist and want to be featured, send a track through. Let’s get into it again!

Such a great response from my post in Brisbane Music Scene ( BMS ) calling for bands/artists who want reviews on Brisbane Indie Gems! Due to the quantity of replies, I'll get to everyone who submitted music, but in lots of five-at-a-time. Thank you for your patience! In the meantime, I apologise if you have submitted music in the past and I haven't gotten back to you. I manage this blog periodically only. Please feel free to re-submit your music, and I'll add your song to the list of songs to review - and do my best to get through all of the submissions. New website! In order to minimise hosting costs, I've added Brisbane Indie Gems onto my personal website as a separate page. All the reviews remain in tact and will stay online forever, so don't worry! They're just moved! :) Thanks to Hit 'n' Mizz, Woodshed, Unentitled, Db SpaceFace, It’s Acrylic, FLIGHTMODE, Cloud Tangle, Sam Syrah, Cosmica, Miss Lucy, Mt. Nadir, Tessa Fleur, Matthew Malone, Tom Harrison Music, Common Deers for their collaboration in providing music for my quasi-journalism over the last year. We're now 52 reviews in, so woohoo! The new-look Brisbane Indie Gems website is no longer a Wordpress, but a dot com! We've kept the editorial content from past interviews, but eschewed the dialogues, to try and conserve the format to song's analyses. Check out the new additions to the blogging story within Issy Burnup, The Blacknoise Army, Lachlan Flanagan, Fraser Bell, Lisa Maps and Chavez Cartel. Cheers guys for putting your hands up to have your songs reviewed! And yep, it's been 8 months, but hey - life gets busy! But we are back - and there are always more gems to unearth!
