Move over Grogu, there’s a new cute companion in town!

Thanks to for sending over this super cute Nix plushy and copy of the Star War Outlaws on Xbox!

I was lucky enough to be able to play this for the past week through early access and I have been living out my dream of being scruffy looking nerf herder!

The game looks and feels fantastic and features yet another addictive card game. The syndicate system is also really interesting with you balancing multiple sides to make your name in the galaxy. Naturally I’m choosing to align with the Hutts, having the most in common visually with them.

Will you be picking this one up?

Some people say Christmas, but this is my most wonderful time of the year!.

I’m pleased to announce that your boi will be attending this year as a content creator!

This will be my 3rd straight PAX and it is genuinely one of my favourite times of the year.

Being able to check out the newest in upcoming Indie, AAA & tabletop games, as well as hang out with a bunch of like minded individuals is an amazing experience that any gaming or pop-culture fan should experience at least once!

Who else is getting stuck into Stellar Blade today?

Fresh off 80hrs in Rebirth, I’m really enjoying the opening hours of the console debut from ShiftUp.

The game looks amazing and the souls esque combat feels very satisfying. Now I just need to train my brain R2 isn’t sprint 😅

NES Grail Obtained!

My favourite of the Mega Man NES titles, Mega Man 2 has been finally added to my collection!. The game is difficult & unforgiving but despite me never having the skills to beat, is still is one of my all time favourite NES games.

It also has one of the most iconic title themes in all of gaming.

Persona 4 Golden is the BEST game on PlayStation Vita. Change my mind…

Like most, Persona 4 Golden was my entryway into the series. Despite being a massive JRPG fan and also dabbling in Shin Megami Tesnei series, the Persona series had eluded me until the Vita entry.

Its addictive RPG gameplay, stylistic artstyle & banger soundtrack really sold me on the series, and to top it, it was PORTABLE!.

Under the Sea 🐠

With the announcement of the new Endless Ocean Luminous coming to Nintendo Switch later this year, I had to go back and pick up the original back on Wii.

This was a series I wasn’t too familiar with until the lead up to the last Nintendo Direct, so keen to check out what all the fans have been raving about.

I wish Nintendo would do more franchises in the “Toy Box” artstyle from Zelda Links Awakening.

Despite the original not really having any reference to the style, it fit perfectly and had its own unique charm.

What Nintendo franchise would you like to see this artstyle applied to?

Ridge Racerrrrrrrrrrrr

Finally after all these years manage to pick up a copy of Ridge Racer Type 4 for PlayStation 1. The soundtrack of this game lives in my head rent free.

The world now in Colour!!

Whilst not an amazing feat in modern standards, the Game Boy Colour’s release saw us for the first time being able to experience our handheld games in colour!

Giving us the portability of the Game Boy Pocket, a larger colour screen, and my personal favourite, opting for AA over the scarce AAA batteries!

The Game Boy Pocket was such a great evolution on the original Game Boy! Whilst losing a bit of size, made the system well and truly more portable. If the name didn’t give it away, being designed to fit comfortably in your Pocket.

As I sat during the credits rolling last night, I was simply in awe of the experience I had with Alan Wake 2 this past week and a bit.

Although the game had been nominated for alot of awards at the recent Game Awards, I would say that it was the one with the least fanfare around it prior to the Game Awards.

With my curiosity well and truly bitten, having never played the original (shame on me), I played through Alan Wake and loved my experience. I thought if the sequel is half as good, I’m in for a ride.

Egged on by , and .games, I immediately jumped into the sequel and was blown away at every step of the way. This has probably nudged its way as my favourite survival horror ever.

Sam Lake has created such an interesting narrative web, with incredibly written and acted performances, whilst also having one of the most bizarre yet amazing scenes I have experienced in gaming.

Alan Wake 2 definitely leans more into the horror setting compared to the original, and during certain parts, caused me to put down the controller to recompose.

The game looks amazing visually but I will call out the sound design as probably my personal highlight. Playing through headphones and walking through a forest, the game creates a chilling atmosphere with twig cracks, groans of creaking trees and whispers all around which fully takes advantage of the PS5’s 3D audio.

The only regret I have about this game is that I didn't play it sooner. My hesitation around it being digital only initially put me off but was quickly dismissed as I played the game. I only hope that Remedy and Epic Games can work together to put out a physical release as I would purchase again in a heartbeat for my collection.

Have you played Alan Wake 2, and what were your thoughts?

Like most, 2023 had many ups and downs. While I met some goals that I had placed on myself, there were others that didn’t really work out the way that I had hoped, and frankly a little bit disappointed with myself on.

But rather than focus on the negatives, one of things I was proud to finally achieve was launching my YouTube channel after many years of procrastinating on starting one and have set myself the goal to further expand on it in 2024. This is very much just a passion project but I have really enjoyed the challenge and something I see personal growth on with every video I create.

Another goal that I have for myself this year, and have been wanting to do for a while is starting to streaming. I have loved being on the other side of streaming communities, and it is something I have been wanting to try for the longest time, and want to step out of my comfort zone and try it firsthand.

In what was chance of fate, I was incredibly fortunate to win a HyperX Vision S We**am thanks in a Xmas giveaway via , and . This helped give me the push I need to finally start. I am incredibly thankful and can’t wait to see it in action.

Whilst I won’t be diving in straight away, I am excited to finally take the plunge, and try something I have always wanted to do.

And most important of all, I just want to enjoy what I am doing. I think it’s easy to get caught up in the social media trap and focus on the negatives or what you haven’t achieved, but as long as you are having fun doing it, it is the most important part of it.

I am incredibly thankful for all of the support I received throughout last year and prior, I can’t wait to see what 2024 will bring
