A 33-year-old woman has been charged after an alleged deprivation of liberty offence in Brisbane’s north on Wednesday.

It will be alleged a woman entered a ride share vehicle at Kingsford Smith Drive in Hamilton and threatened the driver whilst armed with a knife around 12:20pm.

The woman is alleged to have then made demands to be driven to Victoria Point, where she exited the vehicle and travelled via ferry to Coochiemudlo Island before being taken into police custody later that evening.

Police are appealing for witnesses, including anyone with dashcam vision around the area to come forward as part of ongoing investigations.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with 48 sexual offences during a State Flying Squad deployment to Mackay.

It will be alleged the man recorded private acts without consent, took intimate images without consent and distributed intimate images without the subject’s consent causing distress.

He is expected to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court next month.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward by contacting Mackay CIB, Policelink on 131 444 or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.

A man is in a potentially life-threatening condition after a serious crash on a busy Sunshine Coast road this morning.

Emergency crews were called to a truck and vehicle crash on the intersection of Old Caloundra Road and Steve Irwin Way just after 9am, with the driver of the car trapped inside.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted the man to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital after hydraulic equipment was used to free him.

The driver of the truck was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Needing four wickets on the final day, Australia wrapped things up at the Adelaide Oval with a 3 – 0 series win.

Hometown hero Alex Carey named Player of the Match, but Australia are now sweating on the fitness of Nathan Lyon who left the field with a hamstring injury.

Today has been declared a Day of Reflection by the Federal and NSW governments following the Bondi Beach terrorist attack.

It marks one week since the attack, and coincides with the final full day of Hanukkah, with flags on Australian and NSW government buildings flying at half-mast.

Landmarks across NSW will be lit as part of the observance, marking the loss of life and the impact on the Jewish community.

A minute’s silence will be observed at 6:47pm AEDT.

Three police officers have been taken to hospital after a crash at a busy Brisbane intersection.

Just after midday, a police vehicle responding to an incident collided with a sedan in Chermside West.

Six people were assessed at the scene, including two children and an adult from the second car, with no injuries reported.

The three male officers have been hospitalised with minor injuries.

One was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital as a precaution, and two are at St Andrew’s Hospital with head lacerations.

One of the officers also suffered a neck injury.
