Jacob Tompkins returns with ‘Exodus’ - a melodic exploration, and a perfect follow up to his previous single ‘Brutalism’. A stuttered vocal with heavy synth hits, carried by a cinematic atmosphere throughout. Why ‘Exodus’? Great question! We asked Jacob Tompkins this also, to which he replied, ‘Exodus essentially means a grand departure, often by a lot of people. This song actually took a long time to produce. I sat on it for ages, but every time I got to the second build, I imagined a movie scene, that doesn’t exist (yet), where a lot of people are departing a planet - assumably earth. This is the soundtrack to the suspenseful departure - and the angst around whether or not they’ll make it’. We asked Jacob Tompkins to clarify what the ‘bleep’ that means - he made no further comment.
