Yesterday the last current sealed copy of Suicidal Tendencies – How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can’t Even Smile Today (US black vinyl import) got snapped up.

The price of this one seems to keep creeping up every time a new sealed copy surfaces, especially once import costs and GST are factored in.

Will keep an eye out for another.

A reminder for horror and soundtrack collectors — I still have a brand spanking new copy of Salem’s Lot (Original Television Soundtrack) by Harry Sukman available on vinyl.

Released by Waxwork Records in 2016, this 2xLP set features the haunting score from the classic 1979 Tobe Hooper adaptation of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot.

A fantastic addition for horror fans, soundtrack collectors, and lovers of classic vampire cinema.

Overkill – The Years Of Decay (1989)

The Bobby Gustafson years were Overkill at their peak. From Under The Influence through The Years Of Decay, the riffs, attitude and songwriting hit a level that still stands tall decades later.

The Years Of Decay pushed the band into darker, heavier and more progressive territory, delivering classics like “Elimination”, “Time To Kill” and “Playing With Spiders/Skullkrusher”. It would also be the final Overkill album featuring Bobby Gustafson on guitar.

A genuine thrash metal classic and still a favourite around here at Diggy’s.

Still in the crates to get through — more so, as 90s club, funk, techno and trance start making their way into stock at Diggy’s.

Often found myself crossing over into this scene back in the day too. Good beats, strong melodies, and to be honest… that’s usually where the night ended up after metal gigs anyway.

More of that “other” sound coming soon as it gets cleaned up and added in.

It seems, a near impossible one to find these days finally headed off to its new home in Germany today — Jamiroquai’s Rock Dust Light Star on vinyl (brand new copy).

This copy had actually been sitting listed at Diggy’s Records for quite a long time after originally coming from the personal collection (still new and unused) a few years back. One from the “Other” section of the store — Diggy’s is mainly built around metal, hard rock and classic rock, though there’s always room for other great music too.

Glad to see this seriously rare vinyl finally find its way to a new home on the other side of the planet.

Like many independent businesses, things have been a little quieter lately with current cost-of-living pressures affecting everyone.

But Diggy’s Records isn’t going anywhere. Still sitting on a strong range of stock, with hundreds more albums in crates yet to be listed, still building, still shipping records across Australia and beyond, and still running as a unique vinyl record store.
