Carwoola Residence – a project that redefined what it means to tell a story through design.

Working in collaboration with The Local Project, we had the privilege to capture the essence of this brutalist masterpiece on the Mooloolaba river canals. From interviewing the visionary architects behind the design to showcasing the seamless integration of Clipsal products, every moment was a journey into architectural brilliance.

Exploring the interplay of light, shadow, and materiality, we crafted a narrative that brings the bold off-form concrete and dark timber palette to life – all set against the serene beauty of the river.

This project wasn’t just about filming; it was about immersing ourselves in the story, the craft, and the vision that makes Carwoola Residence an architectural icon.

As the original Light Years restaurant since 2017, it reflects the vibrant personality of the Byron Bay community. Enjoy this visual journey through its sophisticated yet playful design, perfectly blending laid-back beach town with contemporary cool. From the warm palette of rust and blushed peach to the textured walls and striking curved countertop, every detail exudes elegance and invites you to melt into its mellow interior.
