Our members have been busy brewing some seriously good beer. 🍻

At the Sydney Royal Beer & Cider Show 2026, Rockstar Brewer Academy members brought home:

πŸ† 9 medals from 11 entries
πŸ₯‡ 3 Gold
πŸ₯ˆ 3 Silver
πŸ₯‰ 3 Bronze

Huge congratulations to Red Dog Brewery, Carbon 6 Brewing and Bucket Brewery.

The medals are fantastic.

But what we're most proud of is seeing brewers take what they learn, apply it in their breweries, and keep raising the standard of their beer.

Well done, legends! 🍻

A perfect brew day doesn't guarantee great beer.

Because the moment your wort enters the fermenter, the real work begins.
And for too many breweries, everything that happens in the cellar becomes a black box.

Fermentation. Conditioning. Dry hopping. Crash chilling. Packaging.

You wait.
You hope.
Then you taste the finished beer and discover something went wrong.

The problem?

You didn't have enough control points along the way to catch it early.

That's why I created the Brewery Black Box Eliminator.

Four cellar phases. Clear parameters. Go/no-go checks. Corrective actions.

Because you shouldn't have to wait until packaging day to find out whether your beer is on track.
🍻 Comment BLACK BOX and I'll send you the guide.

Your brewing software can give you a great recipe.

But it can't give you the full recipe for your beer.

BeerSmith, Brewfather and Brewer's Friend are fantastic for building wort. Malt, hops, mash schedule, OG, colour, bitterness, water profile.

But what happens after the wort hits the fermenter?

Dry hopping. Diacetyl rest. Crash chilling. Carbonation. Packaging.

That's where a lot of consistency can be won or lost.

Your customers don't drink wort.

They drink beer.

That's why a properly prepared batch log matters. It maps the entire journey from grain to glass, including the targets, actions and decision points that turn your wort into the beer you actually intended to make.

When something looks wrong with your beer, it's tempting to start changing things.

More hops. Different yeast. Longer conditioning. Whatever sounds like it might fix the problem.

Sam took a different approach.

He compared what the beer should have been with what actually happened.

The data showed that most of his lager was within specification.

That meant the real question wasn't, β€œWhat's wrong with the beer?”

It was, β€œWhere did the process diverge?”

That's how you troubleshoot without guessing.

If Hendo ever says no to a beer...

Call the police. πŸ˜‚πŸΊ

Brew day chaos is real β€” temps, pH, volumes, sparge rate, boil off... it's a lot. πŸ˜΅πŸ’«

But here's the truth: most of those numbers don't actually matter once you're standing at the kettle. There are only 3 that decide whether your beer turns out consistent, every single time.

I call them the Sacred Trilogy β€” and once you see them, you can't unsee them. They'll change the way you brew for good.

I put together a free checklist + tracker to help you lock these in on every brew day. πŸΊπŸ“‹

πŸ‘‰ Comment "SACRED TRILOGY" and I'll send it to you.

You don't need to change everything to improve your beer.

Roberto changed one key ingredient in his blonde ale and saw a huge improvement.

Less harshness. Better balance. Clearer beer. A batch he called his best yet. 🍺

But the real win wasn't just changing the hop.

It was having a system that helped him understand what needed changingβ€”and why.

That's the difference between guessing and continuous improvement.
