Around 20. That's how many calls I get each week from people using Apple's Siri to call the Brisbane City Council.

Yep. Siri thinks CDA is the BCC. Go figure.

The office fitout is finally underway

Thanks to Ilias of Impact Fitouts, progress on the new CDA office is gaining momentum. Air conditioning has also been arranged with Tony from HDE Air and should be completed in the next 3-4 weeks.

Some limited/initial Probate and Public notice matters for NSW & QLD were added earlier today to the CDA database.

Older records and those for other states are currently being worked on and should be added soon. Once completed, this will make CDA one of the most comprehensive sources for probate and other Public Notice records currently available.

In other news, CDA reached a significant milestone last week in now having more than 30 million records.

More calls for a National DV register

An article in today's (24 Dec 2020) Courier Mail again calls for a National DV register. Previous articles calling for such a register have also been published - a link to another Guardian article is provided below.

CDA supports such a register being established. Lets hope it's sooner than later.

In the meantime, we can advise that all states except the ACT, TAS (post 2020) and QLD do list/identify DV matters in their daily court lists, which are then available in the CDA database. Interestingly, the reason DV matters are not shown for Qld is that we were informed by the Qld DPP that it is an offence to identify anyone involved in a DV matter in Qld.

All offences for which a person is before the courts are shown for SA, NT & WA (& TAS pre Aug 2020) matters. VIC also identifies matters attended to by SOCIT (Sexual Offences and Child abuse Investigation Team).
