This is a pretty cool macro - I saw someone else do something similar, so I’ve stolen the idea…

All my shout mics go to a “shouts” aux, which then gets sent into the matrix with my solo buss, and thence to my ears.

If someone switches a shout mic on and the level of the shouts aux is higher than -57dB, the bridge lights on the console change from white to blue, and the solo buss fader drops by 10dB, so I can hear the shout mics over the band.

In reverse, when all the shout mics are off and the level off the shouts aux is below -57dB, the solo buss fader moves back to 0dB and the lights go back to white.

Very handy indeed.

Had a nice little trot around PLASA this afternoon.

Got a pretty comprehensive demo of the live consoles. Had a listen to the Spectera IEM system (and Sennheiser very kindly gave me some socks!). Got to meet the lovely team, and of course, stopped by for a chat with Tim at .official .

It was more fun than my Travelodge room in Acton. That’s for sure.

IT’S NEW EARS DAY - one of my favourite days of the year!

Just got my set of 64 Audio A18s in ears delivered to my hotel ready for tour. So now I can confidently craft the monitor mixes for the lads knowing that I’m hearing exactly the same things they hear.

I love the colours - the finish is called Purple Abalone, and the logos are rose gold (because it’s my wife’s favourite kind of gold!). They look SO good!

They also sound stunning!

If you haven’t tried the Digico Reaper Link yet, I recommend giving it a go.

It’s a really handy way to control and organise your Reaper session from the desk, using the macro keys.

When recording it will drop a named marker in Reaper matching your snapshot name as you fire each snapshot. When playing back, firing a snapshot will move the Reaper play head to the corresponding marker.

Really easy to install and set up. Winner!

One week until rehearsals start for Busted Vs McFly before we head out for a couple of months of fun in all the UK arenas.

I guess I should start getting my session files ready to throw on my .official Quantum 338 Pulse, with Konduktor and x16D when I get to for prep this week.

Looking forward to getting my new a18s in ears from soon, too. They sounded awesome when I heard a demo set the other day.

Stand by for some upcoming YouTube content. I’ll try and document a bit about how the tour prep goes, and then the tour in general. Let me know if there’s anything specific you’re interested in seeing.

Naturally, my pink, burgundy, and blue cases will be coming with me, along with my GeoTag (in case I forget where I am).
