In light of the tragic news of a 21 year old woman being killed by lightning at a Sunshine Coast sports facility yesterday, it is a good time to be reminded that Little League rules dictate that if lightning is seen or thunder heard, play should be suspended for thirty (30) minutes from the last lightning strike.
Although our regional senior competitions don't have a specific lightning rule, electricity doesn't discriminate based off age - so we highly recommend umpires use this same basis for deeming further play to be unsafe.
