//🔥Multiplex Advances Third Stage of Historic Trades Hall Restoration
Multiplex has been appointed to lead the third stage of the Victorian Trades Hall Living Heritage Project, a major conservation effort by the Trades Hall & Literary Institute to preserve the world’s oldest continuously operating trade union building. The initiative is backed by the Victorian Government. 📚
A key heritage feature to be uncovered as part of this stage is the Trades Hall’s historic honour boards, located along the west and south walls of the Victoria Street ground-floor foyer. Originally painted around 1906 by artists Pierce and Land, and E Turnbull, the boards were extended by W. Dunstan between 1910 and 1911 before being painted over in later decades. Their restoration will be undertaken in partnership with International Conservation Services. 🎨
Multiplex continues to play a major role in shaping Melbourne’s built environment, with a portfolio that includes the award-winning ANMF House, the $600 million dual towers at 308 Exhibition Street, Monash College for Monash University, and the $2 billion West Side Place. 💰
