I know you love it. I love it. It's a great word, there's nothing wrong with it. It's great to use when you're trying to blend in... πŸ‘€

Do you know what isn't awesome? Your business.

I mean it's better than awesome, and so are you. This is why you can do better than awesome when it comes to writing your copy.

I met with my PT last night who, when I mentioned I was a copywriter, thought I dealt with "legal" stuff. If you're a copywriter, you've probably had similar responses.

When I explained what I did and how I help businesses, he immediately wanted my help:

"Oh, I *need* that. I have a new business starting soon and we're fitness professionals, not writers. What is your availability?"

I find that copywriting is still very much overlooked and underestimated, but mostly because a lot of business owners don't know how we can help them. When I explain what it is people get it and they want to explore their options.

I used to be a sook about making reels and didn’t care much for them but now I love making them and have gotten to a point where I don’t feel like I have to use all the popular audios or do all of the trendy moves I’d look awkward doing for the sake of likes and engagement.

I tried different things and found what I was comfortable with and I’m rolling with that.

Another positive is that it’s helped me tap into my creative side even more to make something that applies to copywriting and is relevant to my audience. Who has come around to reels more since they come about? πŸ•ΊπŸΌπŸ˜Ž

Specificity does not equal boring. The more clear or specific your headline is, the easier it is for lurkers to read. A specific headline can still be fun and clever without being desperate for clickbait.

πŸ’£ Two - spark curiosity
How can you leverage your lurker's curiosity enough to encourage them to click through to find out more about your brand or your offer? Have a think. Also, steer clear of clickbait-y-ness.

πŸ’£ Three - probe 'em
You read that correctly. Don't be afraid to ask them some probing questions like "Should you still be ______?" or "Are you still using _____?" and make sure you lead them to the answer or (yep, you guessed it) it's just clickbait.

πŸ’£ Four - testing... testing...
Come up with a few headlines to use so that you can test which ones are grabbing more attention than others. I'm a data-driven copywriter, so once that baby goes live I want to see how it's doing. You can do this when setting up your ads.

What is segmentation? Why do we need it and how does it work? πŸ€”

People and their lives, their needs, their preferences and fears are different and complex. At its core, target segmentation separates people into discreet groups of similar individuals.

By doing so, we're breaking down some of that complexity and identifying opportunities to tailor our products, services and key messaging to meet the needs of our loyal customers and grab the attention of those who are considering our brand.

Ultimately, target segmentation helps us know our customers better, which enables us to remain relevant, stay in front and create real value. 🀩

You can use segmentation in a multitude of ways, with varying complexity. You can go with readily available stats like age, location, marital status πŸ’etc. You can also break it down into more specific pieces, like where they like to hang out when they're not at work or what kind of car they drive 🚘 or what their total household income is. Let's keep going though... do they have tiktok? where do they go for health advice? πŸ₯¦ the list can go on and on... You get the picture πŸ™‚

Can you confidently say who your main target market is and can you break it down into smaller segments?
