It’s my son’s first day of primary school today and it’s got me thinking about how tiny he was just a minute ago! Here’s a flashback to a very cute spec ad I graded with .trivic.dp to celebrate all the little ones who grow up so so fast 👶💕

Well done to the Luis Campbell of Spry Films for taking home Silver in Direction: Branded Content at this year’s at the BADC Awards for Sweats Collective “Cozy Drop” 📦 Here’s what Luis had to say about the colour grade:

“The whole process for me is a collaborative effort with a trust in Kali’s eye and instincts. We wanted something that felt cinematic and textured but with the punch and clarity of a commercial. With a range of references thrown around, Kali found the thread that tied them together. Very grateful to what she brought to this! The whole process for me is a collaborative effort with a trust in Kali’s eye and instincts. Congratulations Cameron Zayec and Matt Davies for winning gold at the Queensland & NT ACS Awards for The Brutal Alchemy of Water, written and produced by Sarah Huston 🏆 Here what Cameron shared about the grade:

“Since both moving to Brisbane, Kali has been our first choice for grading and we were excited to have her provide the finishing touch to The Brutal Alchemy of Water. Along with Sarah Huston, the film's writer/producer, we provided a brief outlining the emotional notes we wanted to hit and how they should translate on screen, in a cold, dark, gritty, grainy, surreal way. We provided a few frame grabs from ShotDeck that aligned, but as always, gave Kali the freedom to explore anything she felt would add value. In contrast to this base look, we requested that the flashback sequence be warm, soft, dreamy, then keyframe back to colder tones when things go sideways. There are also recurring stylistic moments that represent the characters' inner struggles. These had an in-camera lighting gag we wanted to complement with a look from Kali that would keyframe in and be much cooler, with a strong vignette, heavier contrast and darker.”

Congratulations once again to for receiving a Silver ACS Award for Wallace Bishop “What They Wish For”, directed by from 👏 Here’s what Jason had to say about the colour grade:

“Directed by my friend and long-time collaborator Olivia Altavilla, this spot called for visuals that felt emotive, honest and authentic. Shooting on the Sony Burano, we chose anamorphic lenses to give it a cinematic, narrative quality—like you’re watching a short film or drama. Natural light did most of the work, while we played with in-camera colour balance to capture a warm, homely atmosphere. Kali worked her magic, adding contrast and subtly shaping the image so your eye naturally follows the story. We built the look from a LUT that Kali and I developed—a merge of a few LUTs I’d loved for their split-tone character and warm skin tones.”

Congratulations to for his success at the QLD + NT ACS Awards, including receiving Silver for Dope Lemon’s Electric Green Lambo, directed by 👏 Here’s what Jason shared about the grading process:

“I’ve always loved shooting music videos – since my uni days, there’s just something about the freedom they give you. Music and visuals mesh in a way that feels instinctive, like they’re made for each other. On Electric Green Lambo, Daniel Mayne gave me a brief that had enough shape to guide the vision but left me with the creative space I crave.

Collaborating with Kali in the grade was where the images really came alive. Shot on the ARRI Alexa Mini LF, we set out to craft something glossy and high-end, but also to clearly separate the two worlds of the clip. For the luxury jet sequences, we leant into warmth and finesse – golden light, decadent tones. Kali took the light we’d shaped on set, pulled it off the walls, and enhanced those golden hues until the frames radiated that luxury feel we were chasing.

Then there was ‘Columbia’ with Angus and the band – a totally different vibe. We wanted it to feel like we’d just stumbled onto this scene, documenting the band as they negotiated, raw and immediate. Kali and I leaned into a film emulation to knock back the digital edge, softening the sharpness and adding character. My 1980’s Leica R lenses helped too, giving the images a texture that sold that lived-in, documentary energy. It was a tiny crew and a very tight schedule, but we made it work and Kali fixed up the rest!”

Congratulations to for receiving Bronze at the QLD + NT ACS Awards for Skin, directed by 👏 Here’s what he had to say about the colour grading process:

"Kali did some amazing work to bring texture and darkness to an unforgiving location to build on the lighting I’d established on the day.

While this was a small, personal project for the director,  Kali – as always – approached it with full investment, and on top of her own suggestions was always open to notes from both myself and the director.”

Congratulations to for the recognition he received at the .qld Awards night, including Silver for Brood, directed by 👏 Here’s what Remy had to say about the colour grading process:

“Brood was my first project of many with Kali, and it was easily one of the most creatively fulfilling days of my career. The director’s concept was so unique and interesting, and our talks about colour began really early in pre production. I asked Kali to make up two show LUTs for us to shoot with, and because I won the ACS Student Encouragement Award the year prior, I was lucky enough to get a day with Kali to grade the film.Sasha and I both attended the grade, and to see Kali play with all our ideas in real time and land on the most exciting or striking option was so much fun. The collaboration was great, and Kali pulled out the depth and character that we tried to capture during the shoot. It was a real treat to see it come to life.”

Congratulations to for his success at the QLD + NT Awards on Saturday night for They Kill By Night, directed by and 👏 Here’s what he shared about his approach to the grade:

“The directors and I had some strong references from movies, such as Drive, before we even started production. We sent them into Kali and started building our look with an initial LUT, which we fell in love with… so much so that when we went to the grade we were constantly going back to look at the footage with the LUT Kali had built from the start and saying “more like that”! Once we had a solid base down, we were able to go through and manipulate the images with a fine tooth comb – but only using broad strokes, as I didn’t want too many windows. With short films, I feel like you have the opportunity to get as creative as you like with a look, and sometimes you have to "let it go” to make it feel more natural, rather than trying to doctor the image too much.”
