MADE NOW MUSIC is excited to welcome two Naarm-based ensembles for their debut album releases (and meanjin performances)! Bringing their perfect blend of virtuosic ensemble interplay and playful sense of humour is THE HANDSOMEST MEN IN THE WORLD ( ), having released their album via MNM. Toby Wren has been a stalwart fixture of the Meanjin music scene since as long as I’ve been a part of it/can remember! I was first introduced to Toby through his Carnatic Jazz Experiment project and he’s stood as a curious composer/performer in my mind ever since. Which is partly why it’s such a joy to see his latest album “Songs for Dead Sailors” make its way out to the world via MNM—a privilege to help!

HOME by is officially live in the world!
Feels strange to be dropping albums with the impending cyclone but yet here we are!

Kellee and her stellar band - Sam Vincent feat. - have made a record that feels like a warm hug, a cool summer breeze and a stirring conversation all in equal parts. The album is authentically a Kellee green body of work in that the music has come straight from the heart and into your ears. A pleasure to hear this group together and hear how they pour new wine into old bottles, old wine into new and keep things an honest expression of self.
Kellee has and always will be an incredible person with a deep love for many things and it's a real pleasure to share in HER DEBUT ALBUM - launch at March 22nd!

This legend right here is my friend Phil Treloar—one of the greatest musicians Australia has ever produced!

To me, Phil is an intangible asset, a genuine creative genius who does it all with love, integrity, and vigor. That’s why it’s with immense pleasure that tomorrow, I’ll be making the first of two solo marimba albums available for you all to hear.

I’ve never heard the marimba played the way Phil does, and I believe these two albums are truly something to cherish—the beginning of documenting his incredible musical expansiveness.

So, if you're a fan of what we do here at MNM, if you love deep and honest music, and if you’d love to see Phil return to Australia sometime soon—please check out the album (once it’s live) and consider purchasing a copy. Not only will you have something beautiful to listen to forever, but any proceeds will go toward helping bring Phil back to Australia (he currently lives in Japan) in the near future.

I don’t rave like this often, but Phil is undoubtedly a national treasure, and I want you all to know him—his music, his spirit, and his brilliance.

Hi all,

Firstly - happy .international.jazz.fest ! We appreciate you grabbing your tickets early and hope you're excited for a great night tomorrow night!

We've had some rather unfortunate news from the camp in that (their shining and chiselled saxophonist) has broken his foot in a daring futsal play + he's again slowly, as we all are.

All this to say, Milton are unfortunately having to step off the bandstand for this show.

Taking their place is the powerhouse duo of (Sophie Min - piano and Benjamin Shannon - drums) this band creates waves of distorted rhythmic and harmonic sheets to wash over the listeners and I personally think a perfect band to take the mantle from the MMG gang!

NOTE: if this lineup changes the reasons for you attending the gig, of course a full refund is avalbie just reach out via humanitix and we'll sort it asap.

Otherwise, thank you again and very much looking forward to sharing the music with you all tomorrow!
