Following the phenomenon of ZED50 in Brisbane last weekend comes REGURGITATOR’s magnum opus - a convergence of time relative to three decades of cataloguing creativity and inspiring match fitness.
It’s a RETROSPECTIVE OF SINGLES time!
Tests revealed sugar is sweet so we are now extending this tour deep into 2026. A fistful of fizzers poppin’ packets over a hard driving 32 years plus. REGURGITATOR have spun the dial and played it each and every way. Sui generis jukebottin’ amid droids of repetition, jabbin' society in the eye with a groove full of politics.
55 tablatures of candy fix… punch a coin in the slot. Press play, hit repeat. After last year's INVADER of the new comes a deep droid into those much loved plateaus of the nostalgia machine. Blister packin’ energy tracked in cycles of repetition - single after single after single adds up to some decent multitudes. Siftin' through their deca-drome of albums and slew of EPs. Robotic arms clawing in muscle memory. Wry rotations juking that stimuli… from Like it Like That’s and Kong Foo Sing’s... to Black Bugs, Polyester Girl’s through the Songs Formerly Known As, to the Pest’s and Co***ne Runaways… the shuffling bots - Quan, Ben, Pete, and latest keytaring effervescence Sarah - with their selector effects will cram as many hits as they canned into near on two hours of aural sugar that drips and drops.

Joining the pumped up playlist for majority of the shows is the most remote hiphop group in the world Pitjantjatjara artist DEM MOB (not playing MAR 6-15) plus others to be announced. Relative to the 2025 shows - Dem Mob are no longer playing Torquay replaced by THE WELLINGTONS; as well as the addition of RITZY KIDS to Woy Woy EVEGLADES. Also joining Mt Gambier and Adelaide are TONIX. And in Tasmania - THE SUBCULTURE CLIQUE Hobart, MANKIND Launceston, and GOLDEN SUNBIRD in Ulverstone.
Also of note - album #6 LOVE AND PARANOIA (2007) has finally been pressed on vinyl and expected imminently.

DEM MOB are the most remote hip hop group in the world—born deep in the red dirt of the APY Lands of South Australia—and the first to rap in Pitjantjatjara. More than a music act, DEM MOB are a movement: fusing hip hop with cultural identity, education reform, and political resistance. Their work challenges the systems that marginalise First Nations youth and reimagines education as a tool of empowerment, not assimilation. Their activism has directly influenced education policy, reshaped pathways for young people in remote Australia, and sparked a international conversation about what real equity looks like, with speaking at conferences on using hip hop as an education vehicle in 3 different continents. *no Dem Mob

Pop goes the culture! Like a stun to the head it leaves one careering across the highway of a neverending invasion of cultural detritus... strewn across the landscape of your mind with blips and beeps and repetitive phases.
Forming late ‘93 in Brisbane, core members Quan Yeomans and Ben Ely set off on a malformed trajectory of numerous EPs and albums recorded in idiosyncratic scenarios: TU-PLANG (1996) in the jungle outskirts of Bangkok; the pixel obsessed 80s jolt of UNIT (1997) in a condemned Fortitude Valley warehouse; …ART (1999) in a sun soaked Byron Bay beachside house; EDUARDO & RODRIGUEZ WAGE WAR ON T-WRECKS (2001) amidst the red bricks and cigar smoke of Andy Gill’s (Gang of Four) London house studio; MISHMASH (2004) in Melbourne's Federation Square glass panopticon studio for the disruptive Band in a Bubble reality pastiche; LOVE & PARANOIA (2007) in a bullet riddled studio in Rio de Janeiro under the looming arms of Corcovado with a gang of dueling Brazilian sound engineers; SUPERHAPPYFUNTIMESFRIENDS (2011) in Ben's old Melbourne Northcote shopfront; DIRTY POP FANTASY (2013) in the upper levels of a Hong Kong skyscraper apartment; the digital meta-virus that is HEADROXX (2018) fabricated over the internet; the recent cultural coloniser that is INVADER (2024). The past has trekked them live across Australia, NZ, Japan, UK, Europe, USA, Asia, Middle East, as much as an incessant barrage of festivals (Big Day Out, Good Things, Meredith, Golden Plains, Mona Foma, Spring Loaded, Clokenflap, Reading, Fuji Rock, Groovin’ the Moo, The Falls etc); tours with Boredoms, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Helmet, The Melvins, Weezer and KISS. Always drawn to the odd they collaborated: contemporary dance/live music project ‘Rock Show’; puppetry on Raised by Wolves at the Melbourne Fringe; a self-written live soundtrack to Japanese film AKIRA at the Sydney Opera House; performed the debut Velvet Underground album inconjunction with Chinese collaborator Mindy Meng Wang on guzheng; and the riotous kid fun of the POGOGO SHOW! Latest expedition to the peak mountain of sounds - 2024 heard the invasive notions of INVADER… now joined by Sarah Lim on keytar/guitar.
