I thought, perhaps hoped, that humanity had moved on from the dark ages where might was right and expansion was achieved through conquest. Instead, we find ourselves in a world of conflict with the Russian invasion of Ukraine and now the violence in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas. There will be no winners, only the innocent will suffer.

I have a passion for great oratory because the spoken word has power. I have been working on a passion/side project, developing a YouTube channel entitled "Rhetoric Reimagined", where I reimagine inspiring speeches of the past to address issues of today.

I was intending to launch the channel at the end of the month but given the events of the past week I thought it appropriate to do a shorter version of Robert Kennedy's 1968 "Mindless menace of violence" speech reimagined to speak to the crisis the world finds itself in today.

While the original context was the turbulence of the 1960s, Kennedy's wisdom speaks equally to the struggles of today. His faith in our shared humanity and call for courage in the face of fear resonate across time.

An update on next year's Supanova comic con & gaming

UPDATE 13/11/19: An update on Gold Coast trading hours! The Friday of Gold Coast 2020 will now run from 12-8pm, 13 March, so as to allow attendees with weekday commitments more time to travel to and enjoy the show, and give exhibitors more time with the increased floor traffic.

Hey there, Supa-Fans! We hope you all had a fantastic time at our Adelaide and Brisbane shows, this past fortnight. This afternoon brings some important news for our upcoming 2020 events.

Due to a series of unfortunate events, we've had to shift the dates for next year's Melbourne and Gold Coast shows. The good news is the wait for Supanova 2020 just got shorter, with Melbourne now falling on March 7-8, and Gold Coast on March 13-14!

You might notice as you rush to update your calendars that March 14 is a Saturday, meaning that we will not be trading as usual on Sunday for next year's Gold Coast event. Our popular Superhero Parade will still go ahead, along with all the other fun activities on offer during the GC Superhero Weekend. Friday will also be a full day of trading, from 12pm - 8pm.

This is the first time we've had anything like this happen, so we've done our best to make this as smooth a change as possible for everyone involved, and we'll be using this opportunity to look into some new ideas for the show as well.

For those waiting on news surrounding Adelaide, we'll make an announcement as soon as our team has had a chance to thoroughly review all of the relevant info. We love you, Adelaide, and we very much appreciate all the support our fans have shown us!
