After careful consideration contest organisers have decided to pull the trigger. This Saturday the 11th October, the 2025 phantom coast classic presented by and will run in the Devonport area.

We have high confidence that the swell from fridays forecasted cyclonic winds will hold and we will be greeted with prime phantom coast conditions on the Saturday.

We ask competitors to enter via the following link… whereby you will be able to register in your preferred division and we will be accepting payments on the day before you paddle out for your heat (eftpos available as well as accepting cash).

All divisions will run in the Eddie Aikau format with all surfers getting the opportunity to surf twice with a winner coming out on top from your best 2 scores. Dependant on time, swell etc we may be able to have finals for all divisions or there may just be a stand alone final for the opens with other divisions decided via leaderboard. Open men’s will have a leaderboard followed by a final consisting of the top four surfers.

The o/40’s division will be employing the Kim Gale handicap system that the club has been utilising in our boardriders club competitions. (More on this later)

NWBR will be running a bbq on the day with egg and bacon rolls in the morning and hamburgers, sausages etc from lunchtime.
Buttons brewery will also be selling takeaway beers throughout the afternoon.
