What a lovely story!

President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina are celebrating their dog Misneach’s final birthday at Áras an Uachtaráin.

President Higgins took to his Instagram to wish Misneach a happy fifth birthday, posting several adorable pictures featuring the cuddly Bernese.

This Friday, Ireland will elect a new president, with President Higgins retiring from the post after serving the maximum two terms (14 years in total), making this the last birthday celebration at ‘the Irish White House’.

Happy birthday, Misneach! Lá breithe shona duit! 🎂

Tina joined the group at the Irish Film Festival Australia last week

Huge thanks to Enda and the Irish Film Festival Australia for kindly offering some of our senior community the opportunity to watch “Housewife of the Year”, an intriguing documentary about one of Ireland’s most unique cultural events - the housewife of the year competition which saw women from around Ireland compete on primetime TV for the title of Housewife of the Year and the prize of a luxury gas cooker!

Enda and the team create an impressive line up of Irish films and bring them to our screens across Australia year on year, the work they do is incredible.

All films are available to rent ONLINE until the end of October, so jump on and tune in ☘️
