"أحمد بطل حقيقي في الحياة الواقعية. لقد أنقذت شجاعته الاستثنائية الليلة الماضية أرواحًا لا تُحصى عندما تمكّن من تجريد إرهابي من سلاحه، معرّضًا نفسه لخطر جسيم.

كان شرفًا لي أن أقضي وقتًا معه قبل قليل وأن أنقل إليه شكر وامتنان الناس في جميع أنحاء نيو ساوث ويلز.

لا شكّ أنّه لولا شجاعة أحمد ونكرانه لذاته، لكانت الأرواح التي فُقدت أكثر بكثير.

تستمرّ حالة الاستنفار الأمني بعد حادثة إطلاق نار جماعي مروّعة وقعت مساء اليوم على شاطئ بونداي في سيدني.

ووفقًا لتقارير قناة 9News، يُخشى أن يكون عدد من الأشخاص قد قُتلوا بعدما أقدم رجلان على إطلاق النار من فوق جسر قريب، وذلك قبيل الساعة السابعة مساءً بتوقيت شرق أستراليا.

وسارعت فرق الطوارئ والشرطة إلى مكان الحادث وسط حالة من الفوضى في المنطقة السياحية المكتظّة، فيما تشير المعلومات الأولية إلى إصابة ما يصل إلى عشرة أشخاص.

وقد طوّقت السلطات الموقع بالكامل، ودعت المواطنين إلى تجنّب المنطقة ريثما تستكمل التحقيقات
