PERFECTIONISM IS SNEAKY 🤨
I run a Live session every month with the members of the Designed to Grow (my Canva for IG program), and recently I helped a student refine her brand colours. The moment we landed on a palette she loved, she said: “Great! Now I can’t wait to delete all my old posts so everything matches.”
Uhm… I paused. I get it, I’ve done that too.
We tend to care SO MUCH about how our feed looks, how our designs look. We want things to feel cohesive. We want our brand to look “right.”
But here’s the truth: a perfect-looking feed won’t get you clients.
🤓 Valuable content will.
Most people don’t stop their scroll because your palette is consistent.
They stop because the post speaks to a problem they have, a feeling they relate to, or something they genuinely want to learn. Am I right?
PERFECTIONISM tells you that your content isn’t performing because your colours are off or your layout isn’t perfect.
But likely it’s simply that you’re not giving yourself the chance to *show up consistently* and share what you know without HIDING behind what I call “pretty excuses” – your colour palette, your font choices, or the Canva graphics you’re using.
Your visuals can evolve. They should evolve.
But don’t let perfectionism be the reason you hide.
Your content – not your colour palette – is what builds trust.
Are you guilty of this? Tell me, what is your “PRETTY EXCUSE”? 👇🏽
