BRACALBA: The D'Aguilar Highway at the intersection of Mylett Road (just west of Wamuran) is closed in both directions due to a traffic crash.

The D'Aguilar Highway is expected to be closed for a couple of hours and diversion are in place.

Motorist are urged to avoid the area and expect delays.

Heads Up : Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL

For people in parts of Somerset, Scenic Rim, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay and South Burnett Council Areas.

Issued at 2:21 pm Thursday, 25 December 2025.

Severe thunderstorms developing through the Scenic Rim.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:15 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Murwillumbah(NSW), Springbrook and Moore. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. They are forecast to affect Coolangatta, Numinbah Valley and Little Nerang Dam by 2:45 pm and Miami, Mudgeeraba and Nerang by 3:15 pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.

Heads UP : Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for HEAVY RAINFALL

For people in parts of Somerset and Moreton Bay Council Areas.

Issued at 1:49 pm Wednesday, 24 December 2025.

Slow moving severe storms are producing heavy rainfall around Kilcoy.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 1:30 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near the area west of Toogoolawah. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. They are forecast to affect the area west of Kilcoy and Moore by 2:00 pm and Kilcoy, Mount Kilcoy and Linville by 2:30 pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.

Heads Up : Cancellation of Severe Thunderstorm Warning

For people in Southeast Coast Forecast District.

Issued at 10:56 am Tuesday, 23 December 2025.

Weather Situation: Initial thunderstorm activity is moving off the southeast Queensland coast. A trough system remains in place, and this feature combined with a humid and unstable airmass, may promote the redevelopment of severe thunderstorms later today.

This warning is now cancelled.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Never drive, walk, play or ride through floodwater. It is dangerous.
* Stay away from storm water drains.
* Stay away from fallen powerlines.
* Drive slowly and never drive through floodwaters. If the road is flooded or damaged, go another way.
* For storm help, call the SES on 132 500 or download the free SES Assistance QLD app.
