WEATHER WARNING ⚠️

Heavy rainfall is expected to develop today across areas between Cairns and north of Townsville, bringing the risk of flash flooding.

Six-hour rainfall totals between 120 and 200 millimetres are likely, with isolated areas potentially seeing intense rainfall up to 260 millimetres, which could lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding.

If very dangerous thunderstorms with intense rainfall are detected, a separate Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued by the BOM.

Flood Watches and Warnings remain in place for Northern Queensland. Stay up to date at the Cairns Disaster Dashboard 👉 disaster.cairns.qld.gov.au

Areas locally that may be affected include Cairns, Innisfail, and Tully.
