NQTV NEWS - Rock Art expert Percy Trezise draws a Diprotodon, the largest known marsupial to have lived.
The drawing was completed at a rock art site in Quinkan Country near Laura on the Cape York Peninsula and was kept secret.

NQTV NEWS - Cairns biking fraternity protest against a federal government initiative, to force all riders to turn their lights on during the day. Bikers fear the state government will introduce the policy as law.

NQTV NEWS - Naidoc Week was recognised at the aboriginal community of Yarrabah, by hundreds of its residents.
Dancing and story telling revived the aboriginal culture, for the community's youth. A flag raising ceremony hoisted the aboriginal flag, representing independence for all aborigines.

NQTV NEWS - Two new revolutionary underwater cameras have been put through their paces off cairns for the benefit of northern scientists, fishermen, and tourist operators. What makes the cameras so unusual, is they are operated from above the water surface.

NQTV NEWS - For five decades, the TSS Trinity Bay dredge cleared the shipping channels of Cairns before finding a second life in 1977 as a popular floating restaurant and museum at the Marlin Jetty. After the iconic venue closed, the historic steamship was towed out to the Great Barrier Reef and readied for its final end—scuttled in 1981 to become an artificial reef and marine sanctuary.

NQTV NEWS - During the 1970s and 80’s TNQ7 in Townsville produced local programming for North Queensland.
“Newsweek” and live forum shows like “FOCUS” featured special guests Sir Peter Abeles and Rupert Murdoch from Ansett, and Joh Bjelke Petersen Premier of Queensland.
Presenters Mike D’Arcy, Rick Anderton and Kerrie Oldfield take us on a walk down memory lane. While Ken Sutcliffe and Mark Bishop look at the results of 1976 Cairns and Townsville population sensis.
