After finding a nice piece of gold, I came across another target… but this one had me scratching my head! 🤔🎧

At first, I thought it might be a hot rock. So I kicked the rock away and swung the detector over the target again…

But the signal was STILL there! 😮

Time to dig it out! ⛏️

Was it another piece of GOLD… or just more JUNK? 🪨🗑️

Today I’d like to share with you what I look for when I’m searching for gold in the Western Australian Goldfields. 🪙⛏️

Ironstone, quartz and greenstone can be a great combination, especially around a sloping hillside where the ground starts to flatten out. These are the areas that can really catch my attention when I’m out swinging the detector. 👀🎧

But there’s only one way to find out what’s hiding beneath the surface… DIG IT! 😄

Will it be a beautiful little gold nugget… or just another piece of junk? 🤔

That’s the excitement of gold detecting — you never know what’s under the coil! 💛⛏️

The One I Didn’t Film! 🎥⛏️😂

After filming every single target all day, I finally came across one that sounded good… and decided not to film it! 🤦‍♂️

Well… you guessed it! 😳 It turned out to be a solid little gold nugget! 💛✨

It just goes to show — you really do need to dig every target, because you never know what’s hiding beneath the ground. One signal can be gold… the next can be junk! 😂

You just never know until you dig it! ⛏️🎧💛

🥩🔥 A TASTE OF THE OLD GOLD DIGGING DAYS! ⛏️✨

Long before refrigerators and supermarkets, old-time prospectors relied on simple foods that could survive the harsh Australian outback. Corned beef, or “bully beef,” was a camp favourite—easy to carry, long-lasting and perfect after a hard day swinging a pick and shovel.

Imagine sitting around the campfire with a tin of corned beef, potatoes and a billy of tea, dreaming of the gold that might be waiting in the ground tomorrow. 🥩🥔☕️💛

Those old rusty tins left behind can tell us a fascinating story about the people who came before us.
