Rowallan Scouts Park - Mackay Qld

Our recent 2-night stay at Rowallan Scouts Park, just 10 minutes out of town, was an absolute steal at only $15 per night, with water included, onsite hot showers & toilets! This hidden gem exceeded our expectations in every way.

Not only did we enjoy the natural beauty and adventure, but we also appreciated the comfort of a long hot showers which is always amazing when living in a caravan.

We stayed at Rowallan Scouts Park for a special reason — to catch up with friends we had met since being on the road.

But that's not all! The mountain biking trails at Rowallan Scouts Park are already fantastic, and they're about to get even better with an upcoming upgrade.

We had a quick two nights at Haliday Bay Beach, North Queensland

lovely spot but we were happy to start moving down the island were we can swim in the water with out having to worry about crocs, although we did jump in the water it was always in the back of our minds.

Embracing Blissful Days at Mission Beach, North Queensland!

What a turnaround Mother Nature gave us at Mission Beach! After a week of non-stop wind, it was as if she decided to reward our patience. The sun burst through the clouds, and the once howling gales turned into a refreshing, gentle morning breeze.

And oh, the ocean! It transformed into a picture-perfect, glassy expanse that beckoned us to dive right in. It's like it knew we were itching for a dip, and it delivered, big time.

Our accommodation? Well, it was quite the unique find. We stayed on someone's block of land that they've set up as a Hipcamp. It was a real experience, and we loved every moment of it.

We spent a fantastic day at the skate park, catching some air and making memories on wheels. And, let's not forget the water park, a government-sponsored gem that had us laughing and splashing all day long. The folks here sure know how to create family fun!

Mission Beach, you've stolen our hearts. From the pristine beaches to the adventures and community spirit, it's a place that leaves a lasting impression. If you're ever in North Queensland, this is a must-visit destination. 😎🌴

Look at how far we've come! 💫

This time last year, we were just starting to set our sights on the grand adventure of exploring Australia.

Fast forward 12 months from the first conversation, and we've journeyed over 25,000 kilometers to the opposite end of this vast country.

Our family has grown closer than ever, relishing each other's company, the breathtaking locations we've discovered, and the thrilling escapades we've embarked upon.

Our financial journey has been equally remarkable. What began as a modest experiment in May to help cover some expenses on the road has blossomed into a passive income that is allowing us to plain the next stages of life bigger then we could of imagined.

In terms of mindset, we've come a long way too. Just half a year ago, we were caught in the relentless grind of the matrix hamster wheel, working tirelessly to make ends meet.

Throughout our travels, we've had the privilege of meeting numerous incredible people. Not only the fellow traveling families we've encountered on the road but also those we've connected with in this new venture, helping them realize their heart's desires. These individuals are now cherished friends.

We're overflowing with gratitude for the places we've visited, the people we've encountered, the adventures we've experienced, and the opportunities that have filled our lives thus far. We're incredibly excited to see what the next 12 months will bring!

In the short term, our plans include a trip to South Africa with many new friends, some of whom we've yet to meet in person. 🌍 We're also starting to plan making our way down the NSW coast and gearing up for a six-week adventure in Tasmania next February to celebrate Kim's birthday and our wedding anniversary.

It all started with our willingness to learn something new and unfamiliar. Here's to the countless places we have yet to explore, the people we have yet to assist or meet, and the countless more joyous moments that lie ahead! 🥂🌟

Cairns, You've Got Us Hooked!

So, here's the scoop about Cairns: We thought it was just a sleepy little town, but oh boy, were we in for a surprise!

From wakeboarding at the wake park (trust us, the faceplants were epic) to mountain biking through the jungle (more like dodging vines), Cairns had us living on the edge!

And let's talk about the beachfront lagoon – the closest thing to paradise. We spent our afternoons there, enjoying beachfront BBQs and trying to keep an eye on the kids while they turned into little fishes.

But we can't forget the crystal-clear waters of the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkeling there was like swimming in a real-life aquarium!

Cairns, you're like that one friend who's always up for a good time, and if there's one place we're itching to revisit, it's you!
