It's been many years since I started Bespoke Stitchery and it's taken me a while to get my feet under me. I've done so much over the years to explore the world of dressmaking and I am finally bringing it all together in my new website - https://bespokestitchery.au
I will be treating this website like my own online home and bringing everything I know there. I have already started bringing my online courses from Dressmakers Design Studio over to the new website.
I have already set up the new Suppliers Directory so you can see everything I recommend to set up your own sewing studio and all the resource books you would need to sew at the professional level.

I have begun setting up my space again to take on custom commissions again! I have greatly missed being able to sew custom work so I hope to get started again very soon.
I have missed the world of dressmaking and I plan to spend the next 6 years at exploring the fashion industry and building Bespoke Stitchery into something you can be proud of.

I've been building this Australian dressmaking supplier directory for a few years now and I have finally put it all up on my website. Everything is updated as of July 2025 and all the links (should) be working.
It has everything from my
* Fabric suppliers
* Sewing room tools
* Industrial machines suppliers
* Dress forms
* Corsetry supplies
* Dressmaking and pattern making books
There are heaps of resources on here and you don't even need to give me your email for it. Just go right to my website and click Suppliers Directory in the menu.

And we're back up and running again!!
It's been a wild few years of recovering from a serious case of burnout and then the big move down to Brisbane. I have been working hard on my online sewing school these last few years but I feel like it's time to get back to work again. Now that we're a little more settled, I've got some great news for you -
I'm finally back up and running with a shiny new website and everything! I will be opening up my custom commission and brand sampling and pattern making services again for both local and interstate clients.

Time for an update!!

Hi everyone, it’s been quite some time and after a break to work on my online sewing school, I have finally moved down to Brisbane!

I have wanted to continue my studies for many years and the moment I was given the opportunity, I jumped right on it! I have applied for a Bachelors of Design to begin in July with QUT.

I will only be studying part time so I can continue working on both the school and custom commissions again. I just need to get my sewing room set back up again!

I have loved living in Cairns these last 13 years but it was time to move on to keep growing.

Hi, I’m Andromeda (just Andi is fine 😊), and I’ve been working as a dressmaker since 2017. From alterations and custom designs to teaching others how to sew, I’ve loved every minute of this journey. Some of you might even remember my shop in Cairns City, made possible by the amazing support of Renew Australia and Renew Cairns.

Now, I’m excited to share how my business has evolved! Over the past year, I’ve been growing my online sewing school, Dressmakers Design Studio, where I teach everything from sewing basics to advanced techniques. I even created an entire course on how I built my business and how other dressmakers can too.

Now that I am opening my books again, here’s what I’m now offering to my wonderful clients:
* Digitising and grading sewing patterns
* Creating custom patterns and designs
* Exclusive online sewing courses
* Tailored runway collections for designers

And so much more! With the help of my new virtual assistant, I’m ready to take on more projects and connect with beautiful clients like you.

I work with specialist, bespoke manufacturers around Australia. They are often one-woman companies who are passionate and dedicated to making a world class product.⁠

Everyone who designs and produces small-batch, bespoke products in Australia knows that it can be tough. We don't do a lot of manufacturing here so costs are sky high. Shipping is crazy. ⁠

I create my own products because it is my joy to see my designs come to life and be treasured by my customers.⁠

I also do it because collaborating with fellow small businesses and manufacturers is so rewarding. 💖⁠

It’s been a huge few months of creation, problem solving and putting study into action.
Dressmakers Design Studio is now a steadily growing online school for dressmakers with over 300 students!
I want to share more of what it’s like behind the scenes of growing something like a worldwide online school but there are so many pieces to this puzzle. Bringing them all together and watch it all unfold has been amazing.
The school is only the first step for Bespoke Stitchery.
