Soooo, we got the travel itch and did the Cairns -> Tokyo route. With our 12 month old baby, what a fun city and probably the nicest people we’ve met. Drifting through Japan, testing the limits of what’s possible with a toddler, and falling in love with this city and instantly feel like magic with Disney at the doorstep. We brought our new Fujifilm X100VI along to capture the trip, and it’s been the perfect companion 📸

Loved the Tsukiji outer market for everything crab, fatty bluefin tuna, scallops and sake -> it’s a must 👌🏼

Stunning sailfin snapper, blue lined sea perch are absolutely gorgeous and unluckily for them they are a true 5 star ⭐️ eating fish with juicy white fillets and neutral flavour they suit a lot of cooking methods our favourite is panko crumb with a hand full off fresh grated Parmesan cheese in the crumb mix. Also a Nannie that got sharked on the karcass Thanks for the sick day

Check out the colour difference between these two jacks. Any body knows what causes this? Taken from the same depth of water quieter close to each other. Also a tasty cray in the mix. Swipe to see my 1st ever reef flat head. Absolutely stoke with it and a 1st for me.

Personal best small mouth, After a couple hours sounding the local inshore grounds looking for wonkey holes and finding a few nice ones. We stumbled across what at 1st I thought was a rock pile with the boys all suited up in the stinking heat we were in a serious rush to get in the water. Didn’t even have time to do another pass for a better look on the side scan. The marker rope was out and we were anchored up current in position. Some solid breath ups had by all followed by finger pointing. Was pretty clear it was me doing the 1st drop. Leveling out at 25m when I started seeing some bait I knew it wasn’t far away vis was average maybe 5m at best. Then it materialised a steel pipe vertical on my right. Why’s there a steel pipe coming from the rocks? Look left another pipe and some netting. This isn’t a rock we’ve found a wreck!!! Heart rate rising time to head back up and tell the boys. The next few dives we were in shock of the fish life and none of us pulled the trigger once. Everything we could ever wish for was right there. Friendly and healthy. Vis was seriously declining on the bottom and I decided to take a fish, this small mouth looked massive and decided to take him home. Safe to say we are all watching the conditions and keen to get back there.

Wahoo have been pretty elusive at the new local so getting one is always that bit sweeter. Absolutely loaded the freezer with beautiful white fillets for months to come.
