A little family date night at Kushi in Palm Cove 🍣❤️

Dada treated Mama and baby to dinner, giving us a little break from cooking and a chance to get out of the house together.

We shared the grilled seafood and a sashimi platter. Dada said the sashimi was incredibly fresh and absolutely amazing, and we both loved the grilled seafood too! 🤤

It's definitely on the pricier side ($$), but we both agree it's worth it. If you're ever visiting Palm Cove, we'd definitely recommend giving Kushi a try! 🫶✨

Chaotic ASMR incoming... 😂 Safe to say I'll never be attempting another ASMR video again because my little sidekick had other plans. 🤣❤️

I've been wanting one of these Bunnings Mini Bear Mystery Boxes ever since we were back in Brissy, but they always sold out before I could get one. 🐻💚

Tonight, my partner surprised me with four and took me out for dinner too. It's the little thoughtful things that mean the most. ❤️✨

Now... let's see which bear I got! 🤞

When people told me, “You handled postpartum so well,” a part of me wanted to say… I didn’t. I just learned how to survive it differently.

At 21, I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder. I remember how heavy my emotions felt back then and how easily I could lose myself in them. So when I became a mother, I honestly thought postpartum depression would come for me. I was scared that I would disappear into that same place again.

But this time was different.

I had grown. I had learned how to recognise my emotions, how to communicate when I wasn’t okay, and how to ask for help when I needed it. I knew that my baby needed me, and I wanted to be present for her in the ways I never knew how to be for myself back then.

Motherhood didn’t magically make the hard days disappear. There were still moments I cried, felt overwhelmed, and wondered who I was outside of being a mum. But I refused to let myself get lost completely.

Not because my feelings didn’t matter — they did. But because I knew that taking care of myself was also a way of taking care of my baby.

I didn’t survive postpartum because I was stronger than my struggles. I survived because I chose to keep showing up, one day at a time, for the little girl who changed my entire world.

And I’m proud of the mother I became.

Nothing is funnier than life when you're fighting sleep 😂🤍

Whoever said babies cry a lot forgot to mention the 'I just discovered I can scream for fun' phase. 🤣 Send help... or earplugs. 😂

He works long hours and hardly gets any days off. But on the rare days he's home, he never forgets his most important job... being a dad.

Even though he's the man of the house and works so hard to provide for us, he still helps look after our daughter, cleans the house, and makes sure I'm not carrying everything on my own.

I'm so thankful to have a partner who truly shows up for our family every single day. 🤍

Yesterday was a scary day. ❤️

After my baby girl vomited twice, had diarrhoea, stopped feeding like she normally does, and became so clingy and fussy, we decided to take her to the ER.

They got us in almost straight away. After what felt like forever trying to get a urine sample, they found signs of a UTI. They also said she was slightly dehydrated and wasn't getting enough nutrition because she hadn't been feeding well.

As a first-time mum, the guilt hit me hard. I kept thinking, "How did I not realise sooner?" But she was still smiling, alert, and having little moments where she seemed completely fine, so I honestly thought she was just going through a phase.

I'm sharing this because maybe another parent needs to hear it too: trust your gut. You know your baby better than anyone. If something feels off, don't worry about feeling dramatic or wasting anyone's time. I'd rather have a doctor tell me everything is okay than ignore that feeling and regret it later.

She's now on antibiotics and already doing so much better. Here's to a speedy recovery, my brave little girl. ❤️

I wonder if Palm Cove having a larger elderly population is part of the reason. Maybe there just isn't as much demand for family facilities here. Hopefully, as more young families visit and move to the area, we'll see parent rooms that better support parents and their little ones. 💛

Has anyone else had a parent room experience like this?

A little adventure for the two of us this morning 🤍

We headed out for our usual walk along Arlington Esplanade at Clifton Beach but decided to keep going a little further than we normally do... and I'm so glad we did. We discovered some beautiful new spots, enjoyed the fresh morning air, and made some sweet little memories together.

To make it even more special, my sister joined us on video call while she was out on her morning walk in Brisbane. Different cities, same morning routine. 🫶

Motherhood has taught me that the simplest moments often become the most memorable. Just me, my girl, a good walk, and a little adventure.

What's the best hidden spot you've found just by deciding to walk a little further? 🌿🤍
