His courage inspired the nation, and with the support of Rare Cancers Australia, the generosity of the community, and life-saving treatment, Angus survived.

Now, ten years on, at 22, Angus is ready to tell his story in full. Twice Before Twelve is a memoir of resilience, love and gratitude – raw, funny and wise. It’s not just about survival, but about family, friendship and the power of kindness when a nation comes together.

This book is for anyone touched by childhood illness – for the children enduring treatment, the parents keeping vigil, and the friends who make the unbearable lighter.

A whirlwind trip to Melbourne and back yesterday to catch up with the incredible IngramSpark team who help bring my authors’ books to life through printing and global distribution.

It was wonderful to meet the team in person – especially Chris Munnery, Tessa Spring and Madeline Hutchinson-Bush – and to finally thank the customer service team face to face for their ongoing support over the years. Their assistance has been invaluable to me as a publisher.

A special highlight was the guided tour through IngramSpark’s state-of-the-art printing and distribution facility, where I saw first-hand how thousands of paperback and hardback books are produced every day.

At the exhibition at the , I saw an original 1859 Albion Press, the very same printing press used by in Queensland in the 1960s to print books. Standing before it after having toured IngramSpark’s modern printing line in the same day was a striking reminder of how far we’ve come in the craft of bookmaking.

I also had time to visit the spectacular Dome Reading Room, which was truly breathtaking. I could have spent hours there!

All in all, a fabulous work trip… apart from Melbourne’s weather 😆 Yes, the beanie was out and on!
