Sober Sister After 14 years of alcoholism I went into liver failure in 2014 at age 27. But most importantly fighting the stigma! 💪

I’m now over 12 years sober and believe in the importance of education and awareness surrounding addiction.

Facts! What’s one thing you have achieved in your recovery that you are proud of? 🎉🥳

For me it was finishing my nursing science degree with high distinctions and was inducted into the International Golden Key Honors Society for being in the top 15% academically out of 415 universities! And I thought I’d fried all of my brain cells 😅😅😂

It all counts and it all matters! Someone at 3 days is just as inspiring as someone with 3 years! In fact, I’d say they could be more inspiring in ways as in my experience the earlier days in recovery were the hardest. As the months and years went by, it became easier.

So whatever day you're at, just know that I'm so fu***ng proud of you! 💖💖

For me, I like to be very upfront about it early on because if they aren’t okay with my recovery then there’s no point in wasting his time or mine ⏰⏰
