Yolande Brown, Choreographer & Writer, talking about Bangarra Dance Theatre brand-new work for children, The Bogong's Song: A Call to Country. The Bogong’s Song blends storytelling, shadow puppetry, dance and song to tell the story of the Bogong moth, inviting young audiences to experience connection to Country, and to listen, reflect, and wonder. This brand-new work will premiere at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre in September as part of Brisbane Festival before flying over to Sydney for a season at Bangarra’s Studio Theatre in Walsh Bay in October. Tony Albert, Artistic Director, talking about the National Gallery announces 10 new artistic projects for After the Rain. The National Gallery of Australia has commissioned leading First Nations artists to create 10 immersive projects for the upcoming 5th National Indigenous Art Triennial, set to open this summer. Opening in Kamberri/Canberra on 6 December 2025, the 5th National Indigenous Art Triennial: After the Rain, will see the vision of Artistic Director, Tony Albert, Girramay/Yidinji/Kuku-Yalanji peoples, come to life through 10 multidisciplinary installations by contemporary artists from across Australia. Albert has brought together emerging and established artists from as far as Erub in the far north-east of Zenadth Kes/Torres Strait to Ntaria/Hermannsburg in Central Australia and Naarm/Melbourne to create ambitious projects responding to the theme of After the Rain. From large-scale murals and video works to intimate painting and soft sculpture, After the Rain includes projects by Alair Pambegan, Aretha Brown, Blaklash, Dylan Mooney, Hermannsburg Potters, Itja Ntjarra (Many Hands) Art Centre, and Vincent Namatjira, Jimmy John Thaiday, Naminapu Maymuru-White, Thea Anamara Perkins, Yarrenyty Arltere Artists and Grace Kemarre Robinya, and Warraba Weatherall. Building upon existing relationships cultivated over many years, Albert has been working closely with the exhibiting artists to challenge them to produce their most ambitious works to date. Yoway whichway you mob 👋🏾👋🏻👋 we're hoping you are enjoying your Saturday morning vibin' to the deadly tunes on your fav station BBM, coming up at 10am is Magic Woman with deadly sissy Mundanara Bayles and in this episode of the Black Magic Woman Podcast, she sits down with Uncle John Anderson, at the First Nations Clean Energy Network Summit on Kabi Kabi Country. Uncle John shares his journey from his saltwater connections on Palm Island and Innisfail to his work across western Queensland and Brisbane, leading independent and regulatory bodies with integrity and cultural strength.

Together, we yarn about the importance of cultural protocols, what it means to be an “honourable ancestor,” and how First Nations knowledge offers powerful lessons for the future of clean energy and coexistence. Uncle John reflects on the legacy of elders, the responsibilities of relationship-building, and the deep wisdom of living and working the “proper way.”

This is a powerful conversation about respect, diplomacy, and the role of First Nations peoples in shaping a more sustainable future for all.
