🌵 BEYOND THE BLACK STUMP WITH BLACKALL STATION🌵

Proud to showcase the brand-new emblem for the team at Blackall Station, designed right here at OJR Design.

For those that haven't stepped outside Brisbane CBD, Blackall sits in the heart of western Queensland, a place where the vast outback meets a proud community. Policing out here is as diverse as the landscape; from road policing on long open stretches, to community engagement, criminal investigations, and being first response to emergencies in some of the most remote corners of the state.

The new design reflects that toughness and versatility, and tips the hat to the towns proud rugby league club the Blackall Maggies. A badge for officers who wear many hats in a town that embodies resilience.

Blackall itself is steeped in history and character. It’s famous as the home of the Black Stump, giving rise to the saying “beyond the black stump” and a true indication of their remoteness in Australia. From its historic wool industry to its famous 'Hollywood' sign and strong rural community, Blackall is more than just a dot on the map, it’s an icon of outback Queensland and we think this logo, dreamed up by the guys at the station and brough to life here at OJR Design, is another strong homage to such a region.

The QPS SERT team have taken their OJR Design artwork and turned it into some seriously slick prints, stickers and merch. 👊🐕

“Brothers in Arms” looks even better off the computer screen, a proper tribute to the grit, teamwork and hard yakka with surgical precision these blokes live by every day.

Always stoked to see my designs getting the treatment they deserve and put to good use outside the digital canvas💥

🐊🐎 NEW LOGO DROP — Hopevale Police Station 🐎🐊

Out of the heart of Cape York’s wild country comes a logo as fierce, proud and full of character as the community it represents, introducing the new emblem for the team at Hopevale Police Station.

This design captures the spirit of the officers who serve one of Queensland’s most remote and culturally rich First Nations communities. The croc stands tall (well, rides tall) rearing up on horseback, a tip of the hat to the vast amount of wild horses one sees when in the division. Behind it all, Hope Vale’s iconic colours and country, with the shires welcome sign firmly in place, reminding you where this story lives.

👮‍♂️ The officers at Hopevale don’t just police, they stand with their community. From day-to-day duties to community outreach, cultural connection, and building trust in every interaction, these blokes are doing the real work far from the coffee shops of the southeast corners concrete saleyards.

Big thanks to the Hopevale team for letting me bring this unique logo to life, just when you think you've drawn it all!

🎙️ NEW LOGO DROP — “Chasing Those Splits” Podcast 🎙️

Introducing the official logo for the Chasing Those Splits podcast — where endurance meets experience, and pain caves meet shift work.

Helmed by Aussie-Kiwi duo Rod & Sam, both veterans of the Queensland Police Service, these boys podcast goes deeper than VO2 max and race-day rituals. It’s a raw, real, and often funny look at how these two blokes juggle early-morning runs, late-night shifts, and everything in between, chasing their PBs, purpose, and sometimes just enough sleep.

Their pod captures:
🚴‍♂️ The grit of endurance sports
👮‍♂️ The grind of government work
🔥 The fire that keeps ‘em chasing splits, not just crooks

Huge thanks to the lads for letting OJR Design bring their identity to life.
Whether you’re chasing splits or need a brand that's got attitude, hit me up.

🚨🕵️‍♂️ GLADSTONE CIB 🕵️‍♀️🚨

Introducing the brand-new patch for the Gladstone District Criminal Investigation Branch, a badge as bold, bizarre, and beautifully gritty as the port town it calls home.

Nestled in the industrial heart of Queensland, where the skyline’s full of smokestacks, draglines and the fish literally grow a third eye for survival in the murky port, Gladstone CIB detectives do the hard, thankless yards. They’re the ones you want digging deep, knocking doors, and chasing leads through refinery haze and mining grime.

This logo is a tribute to the new and old, with Gladstone CIBs old ‘Blinky’ the three eyed fish getting a new lease of life alongside the current Cockatoo, all backed by Gladstone’s industrial icons; draglines, ships, chemical plumes, and just the right amount of nuclear symbolism to keep things spicy.

🔥 Designed with a bit of cheek and a lot of respect for the guys in the Gladstone District, bringing personality, pride and a whole lot of local flavour to their law enforcement brand.

Need a logo that’s more than just a badge?

🚨 OJR Design x QPS SERT 🚨

This one means a lot.

Not the usual jacked-up animal. No gimmicks.

This piece was crafted for the Queensland Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) — the elite tactical operators of the QPS, trained to respond to the most high risk incidents.

Hostage situations, counter-terrorism, high-risk arrests, these blokes train for it all. Professionals who wade into danger so the rest of the QPS doesn’t have to.

This design was a shift for me. Far more realism, more depth, more pressure to get the little things right. Every detail was built to honour the professionalism, discipline, and abilities of a team that asks for nothing but gives everything.

To the operators of SERT: thanks for what you do — and thanks for trusting me with telling a bit of your story 💪.

🐾CAIRNS DOG SQUAD🐾

Fresh off the leash is this absolute labour of love— a tribute to a unit that’s small in size but massive in impact. The Cairns Dog Squad has long been a pillar of policing in the Far North: chasing down crooks, sniffing out guns and gear, and earning the love of locals and those further abroad, at community days, schools, and QPS showcases.

The Cairns Dog Squad has long been part of the furniture in the Far Northern policing family — names like Dave Raymond, Dan Fysh, Adrian Marek, and Glen Buckle carry the torch and set the tone. Without fault, they're honest, hard-working, and always turning up for FNQ.

This design’s a shameless nod to the legends myself and others have had the honour of working alongside — names like Raymond, Fysh, Marek, and Buckle. Nothing every flashy from them, just years of honest hard work, loyal dogs, and a deep love for their patch of the Far North.

So, from Cardwell to the Gulf, from sniffing out danger to winning hearts and minds, this logo captures the strength, grit and loyalty of the FNQ Dog Squad legacy. And yep — they’re still the goodest boys in the north 🐕‍🦺🌴

🚨 Crestmead Police Station 🚨

Stoked to share the latest design for the team at Crestmead Police Station — a patch that sits right on the edge of urban and rural Queensland, holding the line where paddocks meet pavement and suburbia meets the sprawl of Logan.

It’s a unique pocket of the state, and this stations work reflects that — a bit of everything, never a dull moment. The croc? Strong, composed, and always watching, a perfect symbol for a station that’s got eyes on all corners.

Thanks to the team at Crestmead for the opportunity to bring this one to life 💥

🧢🐊 New from OJR Design – for the legends at Birdie Kings 👑⛳

Say g’day to the official mascot of FNQ’s loudest, boldest golf apparel business, aptly named "Carnage". I teamed up with Birdie Kings to bring this menace to life — a beast of the back nine, dressed to kill scorecards and egos alike.

This attitude fuelled bin chicken is everything Birdie Kings stands for: fearless, fiery, and absolutely allergic to boring polos.

This ain’t country club golf… this is Far North carnage.

🌴🐢 Palm Island Police Social Club 💥🎣

Proud to reveal this bold new logo for the Palm Island Police Social Club — a unit doing some of the hardest frontline work in the state.

Here’s a recent one I had a lot of fun with — the new logo for the Palm Island Police Social Club. Policing on Palm isn’t for the faint-hearted. It’s a test of grit, patience and resilience. The crew face challenges most in the southeast can’t imagine, but they show up day in, day out, for their community and each other.

The design? A sea turtle riding a ray into the sunset, fishing rod in one hand, a coconut cocktail (non alcoholic) in the other. It’s bold, cheeky, and full of island spirit, just like the crew themselves. A nod to the hard work they do, and the well-earned moments they get to kick back and have a breather.

Tough place. Tougher people.

🦤🌊🍃TAO OF THE TROPICS🦤🌊🍃

In the spiritual heart of FNQ, where the rainforest meets the reef and the crocs cheer from the mangroves, rides the most enlightened surfer of them all… the cassowary. Calm. Deadly. And an absolute demon on the longboard.

A quick fun tribute to the Far North’s completed fabricated (but spiritually grounded) surf scene.

If you’re chasing a unique design for your business, unit, social club or a special event, don’t hesitate to hit me up. I’ll make it weird, wild, or whatever you need.

🌿💡 Nurse FNQ 🌞👩‍⚕️

Proud to share this vibrant new logo for Nurse FNQ, a startup by my good friend Jess Dini. A little different from the usual OJR Design fare, but it nails everything her business stands for — care, compassion, and that unmistakable Far North warmth.

The vintage nurse silhouette nods to tradition and trust, while the glowing lantern reflects guidance and service, a beacon in the community. With tropical foliage and a rising sun over Cairns, this design wraps health care in the heart of the far north.

Wishing Jess all the best as she lights the way in local community care 🌅💚
