An intimate yet sweeping historical drama, PALESTINE 36 was the country’s official submission for the 98th Academy Awards and was included in the Academy shortlist for Best International Feature.

PALESTINE 36 features a cast of esteemed British and Palestinian actors including Jeremy Irons, Hiam Abbass, Kamel El Basha, Yasmine Al Massri, Robert Aramayo, Billy Howle and Karim Daoud Anaya in his screen debut as Yusuf.

Following sold-out screenings at Sydney Film Festival, PALESTINE 36 will come to Australian cinemas on August 27.

Happy Sunday everyone 😊

I’d just like to take a moment to thank all the wonderful people who came on board for the latest project and generously gave their time, energy, enthusiasm, and wardrobe contributions to help bring it all together.

Whether this was your first time on set or you’re a familiar face with plenty of experience, every production offers something new. Each role, scene, and genre provides an opportunity to learn, build confidence, develop your on-screen skills, and gain a greater appreciation for the creative process behind filmmaking.

One of the things I enjoy most about this work is catching up with familiar faces and meeting new talent along the way. While I wasn’t on set this time around, it was fantastic to see so many people from our Far North Queensland community get involved and embrace the experience.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have such a talented, supportive, and enthusiastic screen community here in FNQ. Your professionalism, patience, and willingness to be part of these productions are always appreciated and contribute greatly to their success.

Thank you again for being part of the journey. I’m grateful for your support and look forward to seeing many of you on future productions.

Happy NAIDOC week! A new film that needs your support is Blue Water Empire which is a three part dramatised documentary series on the unique culture and incredible history of the Torres Strait Islands. The majority of Australians are unaware of the amazing history of the Torres Strait Islands. Blue Water Empire tells a history that values and explores the cause of social justice in Australia. The Series is an important national document for both broadcast and the Educational sector.

That’s a wrap for me and the fabulous background talent of Black Snow Season 3!

What an incredible experience once again. I’d like to sincerely thank every one of you who had the opportunity to be part of this production. Your contribution helped bring these scenes to life, and I have no doubt that Season 3 is going to be something special.

To those who missed out this time, please accept my apologies. Every production has its own unique casting requirements, and unfortunately not everyone can be accommodated on every project.

The cast was fantastic, the crew was outstanding, the background talent was exceptional, and the catering was excellent. What more could you ask for?

I’m not sure how many people I’ve booked as background artists over the nearly 30 years I’ve been doing this job, but one thing that has always mattered to me is making sure everyone leaves with a positive experience and great memories.

I’d love to hear about your experience working in the industry, especially on this latest production.

As always, our extras have been absolutely fantastic. I’m so grateful for each and every one of you. Your enthusiasm, professionalism, flexibility, and positive attitude have helped make this production such a great experience.

I know I mentioned that I had put out my final casting call, but I’m still looking for more young men to join us. Working as an extra is a wonderful experience, and I encourage you to ask any of the background artists who have already been part of the production. Feel free to share your experiences in the comments below! 😊

Happy Saturday everyone,

We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the incredible background talent who worked with us this week. There were some logistical challenges and last-minute changes along the way, however you all showed up and we truly appreciate your patience, flexibility, and professionalism throughout.

Your energy and commitment helped create a fantastic atmosphere on set, and it was great to see how well you all took direction—especially those of you experiencing a film set for the very first time.

We are still casting for upcoming prison scenes and are currently seeking background talent for roles as Inmates and Loved Ones. If you haven’t yet worked with us or submitted an application, we are still accepting expressions of interest.

In particular, we are looking for couples, as well as mother and/or father with sons (18+) to apply.
