Utelise your filmmaking skills to help the world! or more accurately, help us to help organisations all over the world to generate money and awareness through the power of TV!

We need a local Sunshine Coast Filmmaker - DP - Videographer who loves the art and craft of film, and who also wants to make a significant difference in the world. Starting as a volunteer position, with the possibility of transitioning into paid work as we grow.

We are a start-up Social Enterprise, who are working towards creating a Video Streaming service that is designed from day one, to harness the power of entertainment and to use it as a force for good.

As an organisation, Flicks4good are in a regrouping and rebuilding phase in preparation for running a new global crowdfunding campaign. We are also teaming up with local charities to help them out, and connecting with influencers, celebrities etc who also want to make the world a better place. We need someone who can capture this journey in a fun, exciting, authentic way.

Your role:

* Filming a variety of content - ranging from VLOG style, to advertising and potentially mini doc format for the charities that we help
* Helping us to show off the beauty of the coast, the scenery, the things to do here and the people that make this such a great place to live

We are open to talking with aspiring film students, who have great natural talent, all the way through to seasoned industry pros.

As our global team of volunteers grows and more serious business partnerships emerge, we believe that what we are doing, has the potential to make an impact right around the world. So it is essential that you are also excited about our cause and believe in the mission that we are on!

Lifeline recorded its busiest day on record, as so much of Australia is in lockdown. 📱☎️📞☎️📱
3,345 calls in one day.
🌎💕 I know that is perhaps not huge compared to overseas where many of you have had to endure lockdown for far longer, but it still brings to boil the same issues. We need help. There are so many people who are struggling right now.
📢📢 Counter to what some people think, my efforts to raise money to launch Flicks4good are not "tone deaf" or insensitive to the fact that so many people feel pushed to the brink right now
😍😀 I am doing what I am doing, because I want to make a significant different. I want to generate money and awareness for organisations like Lifeline, so that they can do the life saving work that they do!
☠️🤯 It was when Covid first hit and my video production business got squashed, that the thoughts of spikes in su***de, spikes in domestic violence, mental health issues, loneliness etc screamed into my mind and heart.
💕🌎 So, it’s exactly because of what is happening that I am so eager to get Flicks4good going!
📺📺 Everyone is watching TV anyway, so why not have a big chunk of the money being made from that, go to the organisations that we need to pull us all through this mess!?! 💸💸💸
🥰😚🤩 I am so pleased to hear in this article that whilst the calls for help are peaking, so far at least, the su***de levels haven't spiked! Let's all do what we can to get behind these great organisations and to make sure that our friends, family and coworkers are doing ok.

Ten points in what you might say?! Well, without giving too much away, there is an event coming soon where we will be running a prize draw giveaway, so these points will go towards extra tickets in that!
Classic movies. This one is easily one of the funniest that I saw as a kid and as it was also one of the only ones that we had recorded on the old VHS tapes, it got a lot of rotations!!

Would you like to be part of a huge project that could literally impact all areas of the world?

Flicks4 good is a start-up Social Enterprise video streaming service that is on a mission to make the world a better place! Just think of NETFLIX, but with the end goal being that we can generate money and awareness for people and causes in need, simply by people watching TV.

This is your opportunity to join our growing global team of volunteers. We have a friendly, multicultural group of people who are all excited about making a difference.

We are currently in the revenue-raising phase and really need the help of someone who is great at finding and compiling information. This work will be really valuable in helping us to succeed as the information that you compile will allow us to progress faster.

We are looking for someone that is:

happy to help
passionate
wiling to learn, and
eager to make a difference in the world.
Has a strong attention to detail

You will primarily be assisting by finding information and compiling that into shared Google Spreadsheets. The exact information that you need to search for will change week to week.

If you have experience importing data into CRM systems or similar, that is a plus but not essential.

Whilst this is a volunteer role now, there is potential for it to become a paying position in the future. In fact, for everyone who helps us in these early days as we are just getting started, we want to really look after you when we are in the financial position to do so.

Easily one of the early reasons that I fell in love with movies was because of the amazing work of so many Practical Effects artists. So thank you to them. I still love and respect it when modern filmmakers choose to use practical effects.
I can still remember the first time that I saw a “making of” doco about Star Wars back in the 80’s. When I saw them flying miniature cameras around, the blue screens, the models, explosions etc…I thought “that looks like the coolest job in the entire world!”.
I will probably make more of these tributes, what do you think? Should I make more practical effects tributes like this?

We would really like to know!
We aren’t pro anarchy 😅
Like tearing apart systems and societal structures, just for the heck of it.
BUT
We think that it’s good to question things and firmly believe that tomorrow’s solutions, are not going to come from yesterday’s answers.

We think that thinking outside the box, is far more interesting, than doing things “The way that they have always been done”.
A sad irony that I (Brad) have observed, is that whilst we now live in a world devoid of many of the traditional gatekeepers, where we have an un-paralleled ability to get “direct to market”, PEOPLE/SOCIETY are now the gatekeepers of whether you succeed or fail…and there are still plenty of STATUS QUE thinkers out there. People who will disregard you if you don’t follow “best practice”, use the correct lingo, or sadly even based on what you wear.

This is a good starting point to get the bigger picture vision for Flicks4good down. However, since creating this, I have made the call to go back into fulltime work. This means that I am chipping away at Flicks4good on the side and I have now made the call to postpone crowdfunding indefinitely and instead to focus on creating an MVP of the service, with a key focus on the Action Sports world.

If you are a Skater, BMX rider, Snowboarder, Surfer, Wakeboarder etc, and you want to get video views, sponsorship deals AND do something to help the world, then give me a yell.

OR, if you have some favourite clips and films, also feel free to comment below as I am working on the beginning line up of content now!

Which takes more courage or more “strength” as a man? To share your full story with the world, warts and all, failings, weaknesses, areas where you made mistakes OR just maintain a “Hard” front, bullet proof, nothing affects me attitude?
I don’t know about you, but every time that I have heard a Man share their full story, their RAW and sometimes emotional story, the feeling in the room has been palpable. People have been moved, an IMPACT has been made.
This Men’s Health week, I salute the men who have the COURAGE to be honest and open with the world. Respect to women too, but I particularly respect when a man does it. Why? because for so many years men have been told that they shouldn’t share their feelings, that they should always be seen as being “Tough”. Well, I’m calling BS on that and giving a shout out to the people that I consider to be REAL MEN, the guys who are confident enough to share their full range of emotions. Men who recognise that by sharing their struggles, they give comfort to others who perhaps feel alone.
Tell some of the men in your life that you love them. Give them a hug I say. Hugs go a long way 😃

Volunteer Producer - Interactive Webseries - Zero to 1 Billion

Whilst this is a Volunteer role, there is a strong possibility that it will convert into a paid position. We are raising funds for our Start-up Video Streaming platform, that has a core focus on helping to make the world a better place. We are on a mission to harness the power of entertainment and to use it as a force for good in the world. So for everyone involved, it is going to be an exciting and meaningful adventure!

We believe that this series itself is going to be a groundbreaking effort and we believe will be a key catalyst in us creating one of the greatest businesses in the Entertainment space AND doing great things for the world - so this is a really important position.

This producer role is needed to help us pull together a weekly series that not only documents our journey from having zero dollars and zero subscribers, to raising $1 Billion dollars and having one day 1 Billion subscribers, but the show is also going to allow our viewers/subscribers to get involved. To make suggestions on what we should do next, vote on options of things to do, and eventually vote on where we donate our money to.
Think of it like a choose your own adventure, but for the real world!

Should you come on this adventure with us and we succeed then you can be assured that you will be well rewarded!

What we are looking for:

* Prior experience as a producer in either Film, TV, advertising and we will consider exceptional University students who are studying to be a producer
* Excellent time management
* Solid communication skills
* a spirit of adventure

You absolutely need to be a positive person, be friendly and most importantly, be down to earth. Whilst we aim to create the greatest business in the Entertainment industry and the ultimate underdog story...there is no room for pretentiousness in this team.

We currently have a team of 11 people, located across 4 time zones, so this role would be best filled by someone based on the Sunshine Coast. However, it is possible that the role could be fulfilled remotely. Even internationally, though you would need to commit to working difficult hours at times.

Hey everyone, I have just put a post out on LinkedIn that I hope isn't a hand gr***de for my career. But, it was honest and sincere...

which is what I think that the world is actually craving, and as I have searched myself this last year to try to really figure out the things that are perhaps more unique, I feel like that is something that I can offer. Some people hate it, but I think it's time to break away from some old, unhealthy societal rules! Like never coming across desperate, or letting people know that you are struggling...

I mean, how is that helping anyone???

Part of the LinkedIn post was sharing that Flicks4good is at a make or breakpoint, so I thought that I'd just put it out to you that there are a few ways that you can help us to MAKE, rather than BREAK. We are so close, but the pressure has been dialed up and honestly, after 12 months of work, I need it to happen OR if something is fundamentally wrong...then we NEED that feedback. So far 1 person has completed the survey...which is useless right?

On the positive front, the volunteer team AKA The Flicks4good Global Volunteer Army, is up to 11 members now, and growing faster every day, so I feel will lead to inevitable success....if I can keep going! So we need your help more than ever.

Here are few quick ways you can help:

1. Take the 2 minute survey (link in comments) to help us refine what we are doing

I have all sorts of competitions and fun activations lined up, but we need to hit some milestones first. Like, let's get over 100 people to donate, even if it's $1 at time. It still makes other people feel more confident that.."it's happening", then 1,000, then 10,000 etc!

So short term, we share your interview with our small but growing audience (currently bigger on Facebook) and we will also share it as an Instagram/Twitter post. Then longer term, we hopefully generate money for you in an ongoing basis via our Video Streaming service Flicks4good (currently in Crowdfunding phase). This also relies on you being validated by a recognised industry group.
