Pirelli has unveiled its updated P Zero™ Formula 1 tyre range for the 2026 season, developed to match the sport’s next generation of lighter and more efficient cars.

One of the first things fans will notice is the new sidewall design, with a subtle chequered-flag motif integrated into the Pirelli branding — giving the tyres a fresh motorsport look while keeping the familiar colour coding for each compound.

The 2026 slick range still includes five compounds, from C1 (hardest) through to C5 (softest). While outright performance levels are similar to previous seasons, Pirelli has widened the performance gap between compounds to encourage more varied race strategies across the weekend.

For the new era of F1 cars, the tyres themselves have also changed dimensionally. The 18-inch wheels remain, but tread widths are now 25mm narrower at the front and 30mm narrower at the rear, with a slightly smaller overall diameter. The changes aim to reduce drag and rotational inertia while still delivering predictable grip and warm-up behaviour.

Pirelli carried out extensive development testing using mule cars, ensuring the new tyres maintain durability and performance despite the smaller contact patch.

The full 2026 P Zero™ range made its first appearance during pre-season testing, giving fans their first glimpse of the rubber that will shape the battles on track this season.
