Owned & Operated by the Macarthur Community for the entire community
Membership is open to all. Individuals and groups in the Macarthur region are
entitled to full voting rights We are staffed and operated entirely by volunteers
We first went t

o air in 1989 Our full-time licence was issued in April 2001
We broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Our aims

Support the development of and the ongoing provision of Community Broadcasting services within Campbelltown, Camden & Wollondilly. Support the principle of local autonomy in the provision and control of community broadcasting services. Promote the principles of independence in programming, diversity of programming, access to broadcasting facilities, diversity of opinion and views which enable the fullest expression of the aspirations and culture of the Australian people and the Macarthur region in particular. Provide a range of services to members and the community we serve, including information, technical, programming and training services
Why we are here

To provide a local and vocal voice for the Macarthur Region. To promote the Macarthur Region through the broadcasting of information, news, community services and activities, entertainment and all aspects of community life. To allow for the diversity of the region to be communicated through open access to the community of their own broadcasting facilities. To bring the community together through the promotion of services and facilities within the community that represent the aspirations and endeavours of the region and its people. Sounds of Macarthur radio 100.3fm held its Christmas function today at Campbelltown, and it was great to see so many announcers and background people attend. The station is run by volunteers for the community with a diverse mix of programs. It is a community asset that connects, informs and entertains Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly listeners. Campbelltown Mayor, Darcy Lound, joined the celebrations with Station President TJ Miller and Carmelina Cordina.

Driving to the event?

Queen St, between Broughton and Browne will be closed from 3pm until 11:59pm. There is parking at 29 Broughton Street, Campbelltown or in the commuter carpark behind Campbelltown Police Station (entry via Langdon Avenue).

Alternatively, this event is very close to public transport, so why not take the train or bus? The event is a short walk from Campbelltown Train Station.

Join us from 6pm to 9pm outside the Campbelltown Civic Centre for lots of free festive family fun!

The Sounds of Macarthur is a not-for-profit, independent community station broadcasting to the South-Western Sydney area on 100.3FM and online.

2MCR provides the Macarthur region with a diverse music playlist, cultural and topical programs, news and information on current events, interviews and talk-back programs. The Sounds of Macarthur is run by volunteers who are proud to be a voice for the community.
