Huge congratulations to the St Anne's Catholic College, Temora community, who came together in an incredible show of support, raising a phenomenal $6,236 for Fight MND!

Students, staff, and families all played a part, from running stalls and donating goods, to cheering on the ever-popular Ice Bucket Challenge.

Special mention to Mrs Tame, Mr Leary, and Father Alex, who earned the most tokens - and the biggest splashes!

Welcome home, Fr Paul Nulley!

After two and a half years immersed in study and cultural exchange in Spain, Fr Paul has returned to Canberra to take on a new role as administrator of St Christopher’s Cathedral Parish.

"Living with the Word of God, studying the Word of God, has been such a great blessing. I hope this experience will also help me understand the unspoken needs and experiences of so many of our parishioners who have come from overseas," he said.

"Now I know what it’s like for those who have come to a new country. For me, it was very challenging and at times isolating. But God is always with us. And I think this is why so many of our migrants have such a wonderful and strong faith.”

When Grace gave birth to her youngest son last July, she was lying in a hospital bed, bruised and terrified. She had just escaped a violent relationship, and a caseworker had arrived to tell her the Department of Communities and Justice was assuming care of her newborn.

“That was it,” Grace said quietly.

“I signed the paperwork for The Farm that day. I knew I had to change everything.”

The Farm in Galong is a residential rehabilitation centre dedicated to helping women rebuild their lives and reunite with their children.

On the first Sunday of July each year, the Catholic Church in Australia observes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday.

It is a day to gather as one, honouring and celebrating the rich cultural heritage and contributions of First Nations peoples in the Catholic Church.

This year, the theme was ‘Sent Forth in Strength and Hope’, a message that resonated deeply with the congregation at St. Christopher’s Cathedral in Canberra.

"Work experience for a priest? Nobody does work experience for a priest!"

That was Fr Simon Falk’s teenage response when a family member suggested he give it a go.

But he gave it a go. And this year, he celebrates 25 years since his ordination to the priesthood.
