The Catholic Education Virtual Learning Collaborative has named Carlo Acutis its patron saint.

“We’re thrilled to know he has finally been canonised and continues to be a great shining light in our world,” Coordinator Wendy Mockler said. “Carlo brings alive our connection through technology in the Virtual Learning Collaborative.”

Now in its third year, the program connects six ACT schools and six New South Wales colleges, enrolling regional students in subjects such as economics, business studies, biology, software engineering, and specialist mathematics.

Joyful voices, music, and prayer filled Merici College today as students from across the Archdiocese gathered for the Shine Conference – a celebration designed to inspire their faith journey and strengthen their relationship with Jesus.

“I came last year and it was a blast – I’m just back for more,” Trinity Catholic College Goulburn student Joseph said.

“This year, I’m really inspired by learning about young saints like Carlo Acutis and how he kept his focus on God.”

Lego blocks, painted flowers, glowing light bulbs, and bold words from the school motto frame the classroom doors at St Clare of Assisi Primary School in Conder.

Each doorway has become a ‘Holy Door’ – a colourful, prayerful threshold that students pass through each morning, reminding them they are entering not only a space of learning but a space of faith!

From the sunshine state to the snowfields, the new principal of St Patrick's Parish School took a leap of faith early this year and crossed the country with his family to join the Cooma community.

Standing in front of the old convent building, Dr Sean Mangan is now part of a story that began more than 130 years ago, when the Brigidine Sisters first established Catholic education in the Snowy Mountains town.
