It’s been a busy few weeks. Up, down, and all around. Here’s a quick look behind the scenes: Jimmy enjoying the Shoalhaven views from a scenic lookout.
Trialling a new Canon R5C rig setup, hoping to spare our backs from too much gimbal duty.
A couple of turkeys… and a car setup.
A short but sweet stay at a farm with a well-earned hot tub for the crew.
Steve, mid-recline, sharing his signature brand of sage advice (on something or other).
Stops included Nowra, Berri, Wollongong, Sydney and Melbourne.
A few chilly weeks flying interstate talent into Canberra’s frost—can confirm they loved that.
Gear testing at Sydney’s temple of film: The Front, Banksmeadow. A playground for cinematographers.
Always grateful for the work, the people, and the stories.

Last Saturday, Jimmy travelled down to Cobargo to premiere our documentary ‘The Day She Stole The Sun’ to the community that it was made for.

The event was held at the historic School of Arts Hall, hosted by Rhonda Ayliffe from the Cobargo Bushfire Resilience Centre and MC’d by the fantastic Debra Summer.

It was well received by a packed crowd of local residents, many who were severely impacted by the Badja Forest fire.

The memory of that catastrophic event will never be forgotten for all of us who were there.

So, there were tears shed, long sighs and of course questions raised, but also laughter and relief thanks to the healing that a well-crafted piece of video can bring. Especially in regard to the main goal of having this difficult moment in time captured, documented and archived so we can learn and grow from the lessons encountered.

Thank you to Rhonda, Deb and Scott Baker for helping us put on a fantastic showcase to the community.

What a journey it’s been the past year and a half, and yet it still feels like only the beginning to a greater story that is, evidently impacting the entire world as time continues.

For those who want to watch it, this piece will remain mostly private until the completion of the Bushfire Resilience Centre, as that’s who it belongs to, but what better reason to stop if you’re going through the town and visit the centre, experience the offers of the Main Street and to learn all about the impacts of catastrophic bushfires on proud rural communities.

It will be screened in the same venue on February 27th as part of the 2025 Cobargo Folk Festival.
