Which platform do you trust the most?

I was surprised to read the latest findings from the 2025 ACSI Entertainment Study which rates the trustworthiness of social media platforms.

Our most trusted platforms currently are YouTube and LinkedIn, both scoring 78.
TikTok is at 77 and Instagram at 76, both showing consistent performance. Meanwhile, Snapchat and X have seen a resurgence, each climbing 6% to reach 72 and 73, respectively, thanks to platform enhancements and evolving user demographics. Reddit is at 72 due to content relevance and moderation improvements and Facebook is behind at 70 due to ongoing user dissatisfaction.

Do you prefer authentic photos including (bad lighting and messy hair,) or the more curated professional ones for your socials?

Yesterday was National Canada Day, so at Trivia last night in solidarity for my Canadian friend I wore my Christmas Jumper as the brief was to wear red and white!

I wore the same jumper for a branding shoot with about 18 months ago. I'm thinking it might be time to update my branding photos for my socials when my marketing budget allows!!

I believe having a mix of both in your feed is relevant to help your audience get to know, like and trust you.

Did you know that Instagram has updated their insights to reflect how people are finding you?

From 10 July, Instagram is making a major change. Public posts from professional accounts will automatically become searchable on Google and other search engines.

Now your Instagram content can reach people who've never opened the app—they're just Googling questions you happen to answer.

Think about the possibilities for educational carousels explaining industry basics, problem-solving posts, or captions where you break down complex concepts. These could start appearing in search results alongside blog posts and YouTube videos.

The shift is particularly interesting for creators, consultants, and service providers who've been using Instagram to build authority.

How do you measure a good day?

I measure my day by how many puppies I see. For me when I see a dog I am smiling and the release of endorphins makes everything just a little better.

I was at a dog park recently and I saw over 40 dogs!! I got to pat some of them and talk to their owners. It was a great day!

I was reminded recently that we need to stack our wins. For me the small micro moments of joy or glimmers are something I need to actively search for.

It's the same with social media.

Focus on the community that you already have.

How many have liked, shared or commented on your post?

How many people actually saw your post?

Are you gaining some new followers?

How much growth in sales have you had in the last 90 days?

To find this we need to be measuring and setting ourselves goals so we can see the wins and congratulate ourselves. The small wins help us to keep moving forward.
