I love data. So when I find information like this I want to share it.

What is a half-life of Social Media Post? This is a metric for how long a post remains relevant. It represents the time it takes to receive half of its engagement (likes, shares, saves and comments)

When we are creating our content it's important to know how much time to invest in it. If you are spending hours creating the perfect post, make sure that it will have the biggest impact it can.

So how do we do that? Time your posts. Check your analytics to find the right time to be posting for your business. Every business is different and you need to know when your audience is online.

Why share this information? Knowing the type of content that you will be producing is an important step in your content marketing strategy as we want to be producing content that people will see and respond to.

Which platform do you trust the most?

I was surprised to read the latest findings from the 2025 ACSI Entertainment Study which rates the trustworthiness of social media platforms.

Our most trusted platforms currently are YouTube and LinkedIn, both scoring 78.
TikTok is at 77 and Instagram at 76, both showing consistent performance. Meanwhile, Snapchat and X have seen a resurgence, each climbing 6% to reach 72 and 73, respectively, thanks to platform enhancements and evolving user demographics. Reddit is at 72 due to content relevance and moderation improvements and Facebook is behind at 70 due to ongoing user dissatisfaction.
