How to know if God actually approves of your relationship:
Weāve all asked it before: āGod, is this relationship really from You?ā
Especially when it feels right and wrong at the same time.
But Godās approval isnāt emotionalāitās spiritual.
Itās seen in the fruit it produces and who gets the glory from it.
1. It should make you more like Christ, not more like culture
If being with them helps you grow in patience, humility, and self-control, thatās evidence of God at work.
But if the relationship keeps feeding your pride, lust, or egoāyou donāt need to pray for confirmation. Godās not in something that makes you less like Him.
2. You should be dying to self, not just coasting in comfort
When we were dating, we learned that a godly relationship will expose your flesh. Youāll have to forgive faster, apologize sooner, and love when you donāt feel like it.
Thatās the kind of growth God approvesābecause Heās not after your comfort, Heās after your character.
3. People around you should notice the change
If the people who knew you before this relationship canāt tell youāve grown, thatās a red flag. When Godās hand is on your relationship, it wonāt just look cuteāitāll look set apart. People should see the way you love each other and think, āThat looks like Jesus.ā
4. It should give you vision, not just vibes or emotions
When God approves something, He gives it purpose.
Youāll start thinking about building a life that honors Himāhow your love can serve others, point people to Christ, and build something that outlives your feelings.
Godly relationships always come with assignment, not just attraction.
5. Others should benefit because youāre together
If itās from God, it wonāt stop with you.
The people around you will be blessed by it.
Friends will feel seen, family will be encouraged, and strangers will feel Godās heart through how you treat each other.
Thatās kingdom fruit.
6. It should strengthen your character, not your excuses
A godly relationship will call out whatās immature in youāand grow whatās eternal in you.
You wonāt be able to hide behind pride, lust, or laziness for long.
Because God uses relationships to sanctify you, not to spoil you.
Godās approval isnāt shown in feelingsāitās shown in fruit.
Itās shown in whoās getting the glory.
If itās making you more like Him, making others more like Him, and reflecting His heart for the Churchāthen His hand is on it.
Because when God approves a relationship, it doesnāt just bless youā it builds His kingdom through you.š¤āØ
