This year marks 20 years of Romance Was Born 💃

Romance Was Born is an Australian fashion house founded by Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales in 2005. To celebrate their 20th year, National Portrait Gallery commissioned artist Samuel Hodge to create a work that captures the creative force that is Romance Was Born 🤩

The piece is an intricately layered photographic collage using photos Hodge has taken of Romance Was Born - in official campaigns, backstage during fashion shows and in candid moments.

You can view the portrait now at National Portrait Gallery

Today marks the start of DonateLife week. Are you an organ donor?

4 in 5 Australians say they support organ and tissue donation but only 1 in 3 are registered to be a donor on the Australian Organ Donor Register. In the ACT, only 28% of the eligible population are registered, which is below the national average.

From 27 July to 3 August, it’s DonateLife week. This year holds special significance in the ACT as we commemorate 50 years since Annette Taylor (aged 11) became the Territory’s first organ donor in 1975.

This week, DonateLife are calling all Australians to register as organ and tissue donors and be the reason someone else gets a second chance at life.
