Recently I had a very open conversation with Geoff Feder on The Full Blast Podcast.

Geoff and I go back a long way and have been friends since the early days of knife making for the both of us.

A lot has been happening over the past year. I am not on Facebook much but am definitely getting and responding to messages through the page. I am on Instagram under if you want to see what I am up to.

I've had to make the decision to stop teaching for a little while as my body isn't doing so well with a 30 year long back issue and arthritis to add to the mix.

One thing I wanted to add to the page is a link to [Tee] Spring to a shop that I have set up for my "Grind Monkey" gear.

This is a sideline brand that I have had for a few years now and I've finally managed to get on board the "on demand" print train. It means that I can offer more options to you up front. It's not entirely knife related either so if you think someone you know might like it please share to them.

W2 hunter/Skinner. Satin finish blade with hamon. Handle is ringed gidgee with black G10 liners and carbon fibre pins.
115mm blade, 225mm OAL.

Joel and Simon attended a weekend workshop here at the forge. These are the awesome knives they made from start to finish. A lot of work but absolutely satisfying when you get these as a result.

Mike and Shane (father and son) attended a weekday class with me and made these beauties. A big chopper, equally suited to a range of outdoor tasks as it is in the kitchen with big vegetables and a kitchen utility knife.

Finished this beautiful vegetable cleaver yesterday. 210*50mm cutting edge. 360mm overall. 2.6mm at the spine. 208g. Steel is W2 tool steel with hamon, handle is stabilised spalted sassafras with ringed gidgee accent.

Another beautiful chef knife finished. Takefu steels stainless damascus sanmai with vtoku 2 core. Superb ringed gidgee with a black G10 spacer.
