I was going to make a Christmas homily, but I've never enough hours in the day, so here it is on New Years Eve.

In October of 2024 I returned to the page after being AWOL for some months. I have a hobby away from politics in my local history group called "NSW Central Coast History & Memories (CCH&M)". It's not often people need to be booted from there, and I've always been fascinated with local history.

So after re-commencing the efforts at the page, I let CCH&M know I'd be AWOL from there and started off well, and got better.

We all knew the election would be sometime in March, so I worked toward that. I even prepared a spreadsheet-calendar setting out the key dates.

A few comments I've seen seem to suggest there's more than one person creating content at the page, but no, ever since The Voice Debate - when I had to part company with my former admin, Colin (who voted NO in the referendum) - it's just been me making content.

On a regular day, I like to make six posts and a story. I generally schedule them in for 8am, 10am. 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm or thereabouts. Occasionally I post live, and often there's more than the six posts.

During the time from New Year to the election, I spent just about every waking hour at the keyboard. I increased the number of posts to ten a day, and in the final two weeks before the election I had twenty posts a day scheduled in (from a week or so back).

I remember someone gave me a meme toward the end, and I really couldn't fit it into the schedule! Sorry, Brad.

Anyway, it seemed that while us Lefties were working at campaigning, Dutton decided - for some inane reason - he didn't have to. I was waiting for a killer blow toward the end of the campaign, but the only one affected by such a blow was Dutton himself.

A month out, I got the feeling that if Labor didn't win the election, there'd have to have been something seriously wrong with the voting system. But no, the AEC is really good and always has been (apart from a few Senate votes in Western Australia).

I got crook after the election. I really should have seen a doctor earlier, but I kept working on creating content instead. Since I returned in late October (all better by the way and 16 kg lighter), the page has gone through the roof.

Over every 28 day period there have been about four million views of the page content to usually 1.1 million profiles. In addition there's Insta where all the content is crossposted and we'll crack 10.000 Insta followers in a month or so.

The page's main associated group - Bloody Australian Do-Gooders Exchange (BADGE) - has been adding members at the rate of about a hundred a day. This group had NEVER taken off in the ten or eleven years it's been running, but finally it has, and it's great to see.

The other big associated group - which has just gone Public - is now called "Wrongs of Rights" and we hope to skew the content so Wrongs of Rights is more international, and BADGE is more Aussie.

I want to thank you all for giving the page and groups the success they are enjoying. A page or a group is not the content, not the admins, but it's the Members and Readers.

I've been a bit behind, but I continue to LOVE reading comments at the Page and in the Group. Indeed, many meme inspirations come from the comments, and I reckon NO Term Tories has the best comments of any Lefty page out there.

It's great to be back, and thanks again. Happy New Year!

(Now if only there were more hours in the day)...

Please use the "Ha-Ha" to vote YES. Use the "Wow" to vote NO.

As you pointed out, Dear Readers, they are dead ringers. The Trivago ambassador is the German former soccer player and manager Jürgen Klopp, and he's widely regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time. As for the guy on the left...

The NSW Public Order and Riot Squad at work in May 2014. It's even worse now thanks to Chris Minns, who'd have us not protest at all, or if so, then three months later.

To think, I went along to the Bust the Budget rally in Sydney to get some good pics and enjoy the day. But no, I found myself well and truly amdist this.

My ALP membership ticket expires tonight. I will not be renewing it while Minns remains NSW Labor Leader.

If I hear the words "Royal Commission" one more time, Dear Readers, although with Sussie, it'll be a thousand more.

One Term Tories

One Term Tories - A Facebook community dedicated to opposing the conservative policies of the LNP & other right-wing nut-job parties.

The page launched as “One Term Tony”, in October 2013, just a month after Abbott was elected, and the page slowly grew. Joe Hockey brought down a budget in May 2014 which basically brought down the government, and this page grew enormously. Smokin’ Joe is now in arguably the most cushy diplomatic job ever, as ambassador to the United States.

When Abbott’s position was shaky thanks to him knighting Prince Philip in the Australia Day Honours list in January 2015 we made the minimalist/generalist choice to change the page name to “One Term Tories” thanks to a suggestion from a reader. While WE had changed the name of the page, it took the Liberals another seven-odd months to change the leader, kicking Abbott out on 15 September 2015, two (or three depending on how you define “until”) days short of Abbott hitting a parliamentary pension benchmark for Prime Minister, and thus under new entitlement rules, NOT entitled to a full Prime Ministerial pension. Ah, if Malcolm had just held off for another couple of days...

The page is NOT run by any party, and is not necessarily in favour of the ALP or the Greens. We are just ordinary citizens who are critically opposed to the right-wing neo-Liberal (Thatcherite) policies of the Big Business Bum Biters we now see in the chambers of Parliament House in Canberra. They have to go.
