Suspension of Transmission

2XXFM has been experiencing a profound problem with the transmission of the signal between the studios in Civic and the transmitter at Black Mountain Tower. This was intermittent to begin with but the frequency of episodes has been steadily increasing.

After a lot of investigation by 2XX there is little doubt that the problem lies in the lines between the studios and the transmitter and accordingly is outside the control of 2XX. A permanent solution that bypasses the faulty lines had been selected for implementation in 2017.

However, the stability of the signal has recently and rapidly deteriorated to the point where outages are being experienced more than daily. This situation is critical, and the Board and management are pursuing an alternative 3G-based solution for immediate installation. Accordingly transmission is temporarily suspended until the new solution is implemented and stable.

The Board, management, staff and volunteers of 2XX all thank you for your patience over recent months, and apologise for the temporary suspension of service. It is anticipated to be brief and you will be informed as the situation evolves.

Happy Wednesday (and New Year!)

We've just been informed that due to broadcasting difficulties at 2XX FM our show today may not go to air.

We're pretty disappointed as we've got a cracker of a show lined up for you - we caught up with Mimi Fairall about her upcoming show at Australian National Capital Artists Inc Gallery, and the ever-articulate Zoya Patel, co-founder and Editor of Feminartsy.

We'll keep you updated as we receive information, but fear not! If we're thwarted this week, we'll air the promised show next week and it will also be available as a podcast.

STAY TUNED!

*In the meantime, here's a photo of a cute puppy holding a flower to tide you over*
