⚠️ A local fire ban has been put in place for Mackay and Whitsunday residents from today.

Under the ban, all open fires are prohibited and permits to light fire which had been issues have been suspended.

The Queensland Fire Department said the ban will remain in place until Tuesday, October 21 as conditions were perfect for bushfires to ignite and spread quickly 📍
